When She Speaks, You Listen: @LadyBlogga "TRENDING TOPICS… Uggggggh!"

Boy oh boy…

Trending Topics have to be the worst feature on Twitter. Some of the things that end up trending are nonsensical. And sometimes if you don’t feel like using many brain cells, you participate in a Trending Topic or 2.

Well yesterday on Twitter, the top Trending Topic was #aRealWifey. First of all, I know this is just Twitter. But gosh, if you are going to host a Trending Topic, at least let it be correct. What in the hell is a “wifey”? I believe the correct term is Wife. Wifey/Wife… Is there a difference? I bet some idiot is going to tell me that there is a difference between the two… You’re wrong! Let me just tell you that up front. Anywho…

Now… there were a lot of ridiculous responses I have to tell you. Dudes talking about how #aRealWifey “puts a collar around her neck and then hands me the leash”, needs to give her husband head everyday, lets him sleep with whoever he wants, stands by him even though he cheats, irons his shirt while he’s in the shower, holds him down when he doesn’t want to work and other ridiculous things of that nature. These dudes were probably serious because all of the tweets were similar. And the women, they were no better. Talking about how #aRealWifey stays in her place… the kitchen and the bedroom (naked), is number one and doesn’t care about #’s 2,3,and 4, gives head with Listerine in her mouth, holds the heat, hides her husband from the Feds, stashes drugs in her coochie… I mean seriously folks, I don’t think that these people were kidding. They really feel that those are qualities they need to have in a mate.

Basically, before people talk about what a real wife or husband is, they need to learn the role. There are plenty of people playing the role of a label that they know nothing about and they have huge misconceptions about what they should be. I don’t understand how people talk about things they know nothing about. But I guess that’s the way of the world, people do that all the time. How are you telling me what I as a wife need to do when you don’t even know what you need to be doing as a husband? And all this Trending Topic is doing is reinforcing the ignorance and relationship dysfunctions that plague this country… Hence all the Tiger Woods’ and …. (I tried to find a woman cheater, there weren’t really any good ones. LMAO) situations.

Come on folks. Get it together. Let’s stop entertaining these stupid Trending Topics and if we do, let’s not make ourselves look stupid and ignorant in the process…

Thanks.

When She Speaks, You Listen: @LadyBlogga "My Conscience is NOT Guilty"

The Human Conscience is a crazy thing. Why is that??

People are always reacting to situations. We react to things everyday. But in relationships and other types of ‘ships, the conscience is responsible for a lot of behaviors. Especially a guilty conscience.

It must suck to have a guilty conscience. What ends up happening is that a person’s insecurities and doubts are transferred into the relationship and it causes a lot of problems. There are certain situations in relationships, especially infidelity, that are fueled by a guilty conscience. A lot of the time, people feel a certain way about something because they know what they do. They automatically assume that other people do the same thing. Some reactions have “Guilty Conscience” written all over them. And a lot of the times, it’s really nothing.

Let’s start with the ever popular, “Why didn’t you answer your phone?” – I am sure all of us at some point have had this problem. You meet someone and in the first few months, he/she answers the phone religiously when you call. After a few months, it becomes a lot more difficult to catch up with this person. You call, they don’t answer the phone. Now under normal circumstance, you would just shrug this off as the person was not accessible. If you’ve had a bad experience or found a partner cheating behind this then perhaps you may be suspect. But people with a guilty conscience, take this small situation to a whole other level. It becomes “Where were you?” “What were you doing?” and “Oh so you can’t answer the phone?” If a person ignores someone’s phone calls because they are with someone else, chances are they are cheating. So immediately they think that if they are with someone and they don’t answer the phone, they are cheating or creepin’ around too.

What about the people who sit on Twitter, FaceBook, AIM, GChat, Skype etc. etc. and try to holla at people all day. If you are in a relationship with someone then that is considered cheating… Did you know that? I read a statistic that 1 in 5 married couples divorce because of such social networking sites. There are people who take to the DM’s, FaceBook chats, GChats and AIM screenames to kick serious game, all while their spouse or partner is in the next room. So now this person sees their partner doing it… And NOW it’s a problem. They flip out. Why is it a problem? Because they think they are doing the same nonsense. Really though? Just because you sit around and do that, doesn’t mean that your partner does it too. Take your guilty ass and go sit down. Perhaps your partner actually respects you and your existence and doesn’t do that to you.

The gossip chick is always apprehensive about having friends. Why? Because she walks around talking about other people, telling people’s secrets and basically being a crappy friend. She thinks that all of her friends are out to get her. She doesn’t trust telling them anything because she talks about everyone. Her conscience is telling her that because she acts like that, people are going to do it to her. Those are the worst kind of people to be friends with. You are always there for them but because they are not genuine with what they do, they are never there for you.

When it comes down to it, your experiences in life and your conscience are drivers in your relationships, be it with friends or lovers. Sometimes it is best to start things with a clean slate and not bring past experiences/insecurities with you. They could save you a lot of difficulties. Word.

“unfollowdiddy because 112 isn’t just their name, it’s their account balance.”

Dear Sean,

Here’s the irony, the folks that are twittering unfollowdiddy comments for the most part never followed you on twitter. They never locked in homie. I’d imagine that many however at some point were fans of artists signed to Bad Boy. You can tell, because they know most of your artists and are concerned with their whereabouts. Do you even remember most of the artists that have been mentioned? The truth is they’ve stopped following you Sean in the non-twitter world a long, long time ago and the last 24 hours has provided them the opportunity to vent some of the frustrations with you Mr. Ciroc Obama (I hope that there is some bill that President Obama is preparing to sign to end the use of this ignorant nickname by the way).

Their tweets, while funny hold some truths. Sure, careers fade and artists come and go, but they seem to do so in record numbers over at Bad Boy. What happened to Total? Where is Stevie J? Why wasn’t Mario Winans more successful? Where the hell is Carl Thomas? Where’s that girl group Dream? And, damn that was wrong what went down with Shyne. Sean, this is real talk.

Are you locked in? Because we damn sure know your twitter profile is locked down. A celebrity with a private profile? Must be plotting behind the scenes. I’d imagine that you wish Charles Hamilton would get punched in the face again so that the tide could shift away from you in the land of twitter.

By the way, “they’re haters” isn’t going to work. Can’t shrug your shoulders and think that using the over used term is going to make it all right. Why are they haters because they think folks should unfollow you? Sean, stop being so narcissistic and thinking everything is about you. Be humble for a moment and consider it a wake up call. A realization that you once had very talented artists on your roster and when you became the number one client, we all found that a bit suspect. They’re not haters, just folks with strong opinions. Come back down to earth brother.

Sure you’re a brilliant businessman but so is a pimp. And we’ve watched you Sean, pimp artist after artist. Most recently we’ve watched you create a male and female group on reality television. Then we watched Danity Kane fall apart, and that was really no surprise. One because creating a group on television and expecting them to stay together is like having a successful relationship from a dating reality show. But also because Bad Boy is the alleged label where artist go if they want to disappear forever like they’re in the witness protection program.

Sean, instead of calling folk haters, you could have acknowledged them. Let them know you hear their concerns, and then tell us where Black Rob and others are. Not acknowledging them and trying to discount them by calling them haters is a real case of bitchassness. This unfollowdiddy thing was just showing you that folks would like to remove the situation from the situation (even if your numbers are rising). Wake up. Are you locked in to that?

I’d like to leave you with one of my favorite unfollowdiddy comments: “Unfollowdiddy because his fine print reads, bullets, bars, set-ups, disappearing, snitching and fading careers”

The UnFollowDiddy Movement

Sean "P. Diddy" Combs passed the one million followers mark on Twitter and recorded a message to his followers while on his jet, that he posted upon landing. It was a big moment for Diddy, who hit his followers with "WE DID IT!!!! A MILI A MILI A MILI!!! 1 MILLION FOLLOWERS!!! "

But almost immediately after passing one million followers, the unfollowdiddy movement started on twitter (we fully support... haha), quickly moving up the trending topics on twitter, above all the playoff and proposition 8 talk. How'd it start? @FoxxFiles claims responsibility for starting the movement.

Chris Foxx aka @FoxxFiles

"So tonight I started #unfollowdiddy which rose to #1 trending topics, Puff sent out subliminals to me and then blocked me for the 4th time," @FoxxFiles sent out in a Tweet during the early morning hours of May 27th.

"My name is Chris Foxx and yes I started #unfollowdiddy take that take that I see them subliminals," @FoxxFiles continued on Twitter.

@FoxxFiles "locked in" and went hard on pushing the unfollowdiddy movement and many folks joined in with reasons you should un-follow the music mogul. It quickly became hilarious to follow.

Here are a few:

"unfollowdiddy b/c they saw craig mack on Crenshaw selling pagers! *smh*"

"unfollowdiddy because he never shared his Proactiv with Craig Mack"

"unfollowdiddy because 112 isn't just their name its their account balance LMAO!!"

"unfollowdiddy Because somewhere Craig Mack is freestyling and broke, and that aint right."

"unfollowdiddy because Mario Winans COULD HAVE had a career."

"unfollowdiddy cuz hes in full promote mode for his album and everybody else is on the waiting list"

"unfollowdiddy Cause Ciroc Obama is ignorant"

"unfollowdiddy 'cause Carl Thomas wishes he never met him..at allllllll"

"unfollowdiddy for making Bad Boy an artist cemetery"

Diddy responded to the movement with this tweet, "Life is short! Use your time wisely! Only a fool waste time on negativity! While your trying to tear me down I'm already onto my next dream!"

Diddy followed it with, "I Love u even when you don’t love ME! I will always love you! I LOVE YOU! I believe in you! The devil is a liar! LETS GO!!!"

I had initially imagined Diddy sitting somewhere, shaking his head and mumbling "b*tcha**ness" as the unfollowdiddy trend rose on twitter. But Mr. Ciroc Obama (a name which I think President Obama should put an end to immediately) keeps the followers coming.

Because while it appeared that Diddy's numbers were going down for a moment, his numbers quickly reversed and were on a quick rise. So, perhaps the unfollowdiddy had the opposite result but reading the reasons why you should un-follow, were hilarious in itself (which could be considered a small victory).

“Ok enough of the games! I'm still here and aint goin nowhere! Go to sleep and when you wake up ill be at the finish line waitin for you! Lol” Diddy sent out in a tweet while comfortably above one million followers.

And in an effort to change the tide and prove the might of Diddy, he sent out the following tweet "#luvfollowingdiddy !!!! retweet and show them thev power of positivity! lets go!!! lol" Which as of writing this, has already found it's way on to the twitter trending list.

I wish more folks woke up and paid attention to the crazy stuff that Diddy does. It really appears that Bad Boy is the label artist go to disappear. Total? Craig Mack? Dream? Danity Kane? Carl Thomas? Oh, I can go on. Their number one client will always be Diddy.

But, hey folks ... follow away.

What I'm Watching Right Now...J Smooth (illdoctrine)

I've been on to the video blogs of J Smooth for sometime now. I can't remember how I found them but I'm glad I subscribe to them. Because he does what my boy Q and I do on occasion. Speak on things with sense, points, and intelligent opinions. Sometimes sarcastic, always enlightening. Probably why Q and I think he's our boy yet we've never met. Hahaha. He just makes sense when he does his videos. How can I not be cool with a dude like that. This video in particular is about Asher Roth and a comment he made. I didn't hear about it till watching this video blog (vlog?). Check it out. You might learn something.

Diamond District - In The Ruff

I happened to catch "phontigallo"s Twitter update as he writes (tweets) "Shame on you if you ain't bumpin the Diamond District album right now. Rawest hip-hop shit I heard in ages. http://diamonddistrictdmv.com/".

According to the group's MySpace page, Oddisee (producer/MC from Prince George’s county, Maryland) formed this group with solo artist, XO and YU. The idea was to create a mid-90’s boom-bap themed record for the DC, Maryland & Virginia metropolitan area. XO, (born & raised in North West DC) defines what it is to be a black male raised in the district, with lyrics that have a way of philosophizing that street life.

“In The Ruff” is the DMV’s soundtrack. its street savvy, politically conscious lyrics and grimy beats depict life in and around our nations capitol.

I've heard some tracks previously and wasn't disappointed. Couldn't pass it up and I don't think you should. Enjoy.

In The Ruff is the highly anticipated debut album from new DC hip hop group “The Diamond District”, created by state veterans Oddisee, X.O. & YU. In The Ruff is the answer for any lover of hip hop who asks the question - “Where did that grimy East coast sound go?”

The group was founded by rapper/ producer Oddisee, who has a long list of production & collaboration credits with the likes of Freeway, Talib Kweli, Siagon, Little Brother, Trek Life, Charles Hamilton, Jazzy Jeff, Buck Shot, Royce the 5′9”, Nikki jean, Muhsinah, J-live, Lil Fame of MOP, Skyzoo and many more. Oddisee’s soulful, haunting samples over bass-heavy beat breaks create the perfect instrumentals for him, XO & YU to match with their street savvy, politically conscious lyrics.

“The ware wolves wear wool suits, be ware of them…” -YU

In The Ruff is a raw mid-90’s Boom-Bap themed album for the DC state of mind, destined to appeal to all lovers of hip hop’s golden era, managing to travel back in time and push the boundaries of DC Hip-Hop simultaneously.
