Yes, Friday's Five Random Questions is back. I know you missed it. Ha!

And next up is The Real Jay Mills.

The first time I heard her was on the track "Trouble," featuring two other dynamite female emcees out of the DMV, Emperess and RAtheMC. I started checking for more music from her and found some of her older spoken word stuff and some of her raw and edgy Hip-Hop stuff. A few months back she responded to a request for a female emcee to rhyme over the "Devil In A New Dress" instrumental and delivered the fresh "feMC DIARY (Devil In A New Dress).”

Just recently she released a pretty fresh project, "Winter Sadness: PoetReMixtape Volume IV".

The Real Jay Mills is dope.

If you know me, you know I'm not a fan of folks driving a popular beat into the ground rocking their own rendition of it. However, the first time I heard Kanye's "Devil In A New Dress," I knew I needed to hear the track with a female emcee rhyming over it. So, much like many of my thoughts, I tweeted it. The Real Jay Mills responded. She's been featured on the site a few times. She's a dope emcee out of DC who just happens to be a woman. She definitely holds her ground. Check out what she calls an, "I just Wrote it ... Fresh out my brain...." type of track. In a time where folks constantly question where female emcees are, she raises her hand and exclaims, right here. Enjoy.

Remember that time they said there weren't any dope female emcees in Hip-Hop? Guess those folks weren't looking hard enough because these three DMV emcees, who happen to be women, are dope. They all have individual projects out and together on this track they kill it. Part of The Real Jay Mills' Summer Madness project, this is easily one of my favorite tracks released this year. With a new edit, check the updated version of "Trouble." Enjoy.
