¡MAYDAY! - "Highs & Lows" feat. Ace Hood & Reks (Statik Selektah Remix)

Oh shit. How I almost miss this? Damn, Statik Selektah came through and gave this track a soulful feel. That piano sounds just right over this version of ¡MAYDAY!'s track that now features R.E.K.S. Damn. Check it out for yourself. Oh, and if you still haven't copped ¡MAYDAY!'s Take Me To Your Leader album, do it now. It's one of my favorite albums in 2012. No doubt.

Dice Raw x Statik Selektah "Bloody Mary"

I heard this new joint yesterday. Damn. Another solid beat from Statik Selektah, who has been on a mean streak lately, and some killer verses from Dice Raw. Look out for a collabo EP on the way from the two, but in the meantime enjoy Bloody Mary. Chea!

Statik Selektah - "Play The Game" featuring Big K.R.I.T. and Freddie Gibbs

Statik Selektah is one of my favorite DJs in the last couple years. I've been trying to pay attention to his work, got Spell My Name Right, Stick 2 The Script, and 100 Proof: The Hangover, and I try to catch him on his satellite radio show. Always impressed with his work. Really dope music. This joint is the 1st release off Statik's next upcoming album titled "Population Control" out October 25th and will be another album I'm copping without even having to listen to a second track. That's how good this guy's reputation is with me. Check out this new joint and see for yourself. Freddie Gibbs and Big K.R.I.T. do not let this track down one bit.

DJ Absolut stops by Shade 45

Caught this in the email.
Last Thursday I was with DJ Absolut as he stopped by Shade 45's Statik Selektah Show Off show to premier his latest record featuring Havoc, Joell Ortiz, Cassidy & Sheek Louch. 6-8 bars into the record Havoc calls and talks about the record and future plans for when Prodigy is released from prison. Shortly after they received another phone call, this time from Brooklyn emcee Joell Ortiz! Who took time away from his tour to discuss the record and his latest project, which is set for a Nov 9th release.

Download ... Purpose (of Tragic Allies) "Better Than Your Album Mixtape"

Uh, what's funny is that this shit is really better than a lot of albums. A LOT. Ha! I caught this joint from Khal over at Rock The Dub. This Purpose joint is dope. BLAST IT!! Enjoy.
Today, Friday the 13th, marks the release of Tragic Allies-member Purpose's new mixtape, Better Than Your Album, which does exactly what it says on the tin. Hosted by Statik Selektah and presented by OneThree Music, this project truly showcases the raw Hip-Hop that emanates from Purpose's pen, and his board. Features include Singapore Kane, Ghetto Lion, both Code Nine + Estee Nack of the Tragic Allies, multiple-tracks featuring cuts from DJ Slipwax, and production from cats like KOS, Abstrakt, Archimedes, Bug, White Lotus and Purpose himself. It's an all-around proper slice of rugged and raw Hip-Hop that should set your weekend off properly.
Check my favorite cut, "No Explanations."
