Signif - "Friction"

She's never been on 2 Dope Boyz but she's about to tour Europe ... again.

Our sis Signif drops off her latest offering, Friction. Having been involved in some way or another on her last few projects, and as a fan, it's so dope to watch the NYC by way of Milwaukee emcee continue to grow musically each time she steps in front of a microphone. On the new project she holds no punches as she delivers up hard hitting rhymes over production from the likes of Radio Raheim, Moteleola, JBM Beatz, Fate and more. This is her finest work and you should definitely be paying attention. Enjoy the tunes.

Signif "Health, Wealth & Love" (Remixes)

From her Significant Wizdom II: Atypical project, Signif drops the remixes to Health, Wealth & Love featuring Nameless, Motel Eola, Haz Solo and Handbook.

About the track, Sig says, "I always felt it was important to address my lifestyle in my music. I’m a vegetarian, finance purist, I believe love makes the world go round, and I’m a naturalist who lives a somewhat holistic lifestyle.I wanted to be straightforward in this song; it’s a good thing to be fully aware and conscious, while making an effort to become the best me I can be.These are the things that motive me and keep me going, it’s all about universal law."

You can catch Signif live March 14th at Dive Bar and Lounge in Austin, TX from 12pm-6:30pm with Psalm One and others and March 27th at UWM in Milwaukee opening for Jean Grae and Pharoahe Monch.

Greg Grease x Dremur x Signif "What I'm Told" (Prod. by maticulous)

Like Hannibal Smith, I love it when a plan comes together. A while back meenAfresH (KevinNottingham.com / The Certified fresH Jumpoff) hit me up about doing a collab with Dremur, Signif and Greg Grease. He reached out to maticulous for the beat, add DJ Just Nine on the cuts and you have a solid record in What I'm Told. As I come out of my winter slumber, I'm happy to bring you this dope track. Enjoy. Chea!

NEW RELEASE: Signif "Significant Wizdom II: Atypical"

"On this album I choose to talk about issues like living a healthy lifestyle, being financially responsible, and being a positive voice for my community. I sprinkle this message throughout the project while also speaking on where I am right now and what’s going on in my world.”

She's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! After dropping two singles, Signif delivers the Gee Wiz produced Significant Wizdom II: Atypical. Released as a joint venture with her new label Intelligent Dummies and Throat Chop Music, SWII is possibly Sig's finest and most honest work to date. I'm happy to be a part of it. TMB x 100 Akres Presents: The Soulstice feat. Signif "FYI" (Maxi Single)

TMB x 100 Akres. It's a beautiful thing. Chea!
FYI is a digital single from The Soulstice featuring the Milwaukee bred/NY based lyricist, Signif. One half of the Soulstice (Rob Yung & Ross Munroe) handle the verbal work over a FreshNerd produced track which samples a hypnotic Jazz horn riff over neck damaging drums.

The release is delivered as a digital version of a 90's style CD single offering remixes and instrumentals from longtime 100 Akres collaborators Juels (Los Angeles) and Handbook (UK) giving their own unique spin to the song.

What I'm Watching: SigNif "Like My Style"

"[Like My Style] is me explaining how I don’t fit the typical rapper mode, and how I’m 100% fine with that," says SigNif. "Embracing Rejection is about the trials and tribulations of a starving artist trying to pave her way into an industry that’s not particularly in her favor. Rejection is a big part of life and once I was able to except it, I was able to use if for encouragement."

I do like SigNif's style. I've liked it for a while. I've been a long time fan of the Milwaukee bred, NYC based emcee but you already know that because she's no stranger to the site. Sig has been on a bit of a recent hiatus but according to her recent texts, she's getting her mojo back. And today she decided to unleash the Darren Cole/self-directed video for Like My Style off of her TMB, HipHopisCoolAgain.com and KevinNottingham.com presented project, Embracing Rejection. Enjoy the vid.

If you're in NYC April 25th, check her at Lit Lounge (93 2nd Avenue) with J. Philippe, Laurensara, Ane, Yoshi Thetalent and K Rizz. And when you get the chance, vote for Sig to compete for a slot at this years BK Hip Hop fest. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Signif "Soul Clap"

“One goal that many artist have in common is the lust for the limelight, whether working a 9-5 or different hustles on the side we all have dreams of traveling the world performing, while living off our music comfortably. The trick is making that dream a reality” –Signif

Sig links up with long time collaborator Darren Cole again to bring to life the video for Soul Clap, the second video off of the Hip Hop is Cool Again, Kevin Nottingham and TMB presented Embracing Rejection. Enjoy another solid visual offering from our homegirl. Chea!

TMB Presents: SigNif "Dynamite" (Prod. by Madden Miles)

SigNif is like family to The Mad Bloggers. She's one of those rare individuals that we know outside of the Internet. She's super talented too. Since discovering her Flawed project a while back, we've tried to support what she does. Many projects later, her music and sound have developed a lot since hearing those early tracks. It's dope when you see that growth in someone you've been rooting for. Recently she linked up with TMB on the tentatively titled Hathadays project (which includes a few other emcees), taking cuts from the Madden Miles produced Donny Hathaway beat tape, A Beat For You. Sig lets loose on Dynamite, which premiered earlier today on Ep 103 of Hip-Hop Breakfast. Stop sleeping on the girl. Hit play and enjoy this one. Chea!
