In the anticipation for Common's new album, "The Dreamer, The Believer", I have taken the time to remix one of Common's singles. I was planning on doing an short EP of remixes before the actually release of "The Dreamer, The Believer", but I just don't have the time anymore. But I thought I would send this joint I knocked out today. Hope you enjoy it and thank you for listening.
SigNif returns with the latest and last single from her upcoming TMB, Hip Hop is Cool Again and Kevin Nottingham backed project. With the homie Sauce Fonda on the beat, SigNif is nice to know. Look out for Embracing Rejection next Friday. In the meantime hit play and enjoy the track. Chea!
Keno and Sauce Fonda are two of my favorite dudes. Talented and cool as shit. In addition to being a part of the Sacramento based T.U.S. (The Usual Suspect) with Chuuwee, J.GOOD, Konkwest, Haz Solo (Milwaukee), Jonathan Lowell (Boston), Drian, Tellapath, and Tone Da Under Dog - the duo make up theOTHERSIDE. Keno provides the rhymes and Sauce provides the soulful beats. With a few solo offerings under their belt, recently they decided to drop two previously unreleased bombs on the Internets. "It Ain't But It Is" and "Gee Whiz" are both dope cuts. Two tracks without a home on a project, they now find a place on these pages. Hit play and enjoy. Chea!
Here's the first remix, done by Sauce Fonda, we at The Mad Bloggers received for Rocky Rivera's track "40 Ounce Raps" off her "Rockapellas" album. Check it out and let us know what you think about this remix.
At 3:31 am Friday morning, Sauce Fonda hit send on what can be best described as his Jerry Maguire moment. Or he was high. Or he was high watching Jerry Maguire. Allegedly, of course. Ha!
If you've been following the blog, you know Sauce Fonda. He's been featured several times and he's a talented producer and one half of theOTHERSIDE. He is also one of my favorite indie producers. And when we do what we love, we find ourselves in these self reflective moods. I know. That was the mood Sauce was in last night when he put together My Own Time.
As I read what Sauce called a rant, I totally understood where he was coming from and could relate. There is an oversaturation in Hip-Hop. There are a lot of thankless moments. There are many folks trying to get over. There are many copycats and not enough originals.
Making music should always be on your terms and Sauce outlined those terms. I look at it like he's refocusing and I dig that. And I dig the 11-beat-beat-tape with some old and a couple of new joints. "I'm Back Home" is one of my favorites on My Own Time and I thought it was fitting considering. Enjoy. Chea!
"The hip hop scene (I believe) has reached its capacity, the ones that actually put in tons of work to perfect their craft get pushed to the side. Pushed to the side for the “next sound”, the “sound” that isn’t what hip hop is. It just really disgusts me to see hardworking individuals make timeless music while others throw something together (here's looking at you Kreayshawn) and get paid millions. I'm not saying I'm one of those people who make timeless music, but my outlook on what I want with hip hop has drastically changed..."
"... I will work with folks, but it will be very limited, pretty much to my camp and a couple other people I have already worked with. I'm just going to make beats, package them up, and send them out for whomever to download. "
If you use any of these beats, be sure to hit Sauce at sauceisacoolkid [at] gmail [dot] com.
I've seen this video floating around tumblr, and I'm pretty sure I've reblogged it. I can't quite remember, considering the amount of times I hit reblog in a 24 hour period. Ha! Anyway, I thought the Azuré joint was dope. In the opening credits I peeped the production came from Wallsauce. It didn't dawn on me until about 20 minutes ago when I received an email from the homie Sauce Fonda, that I suddenly remembered that Sauce use to go by Wallsauce. A slightly older beat dished out in 08-09, it still delivers that Sauce Fonda trademarked soulful sound. I think folks sleep on the West Coast scene unless you're on the West Coast. I don't know why. They've got heat and if this track isn't proof enough, peep Azuré full project Illusions of Oasis. Enjoy.
Did you enjoy that Sauce Fonda Big L remembrance remix? I told you the kid was dope. I also told you that I was gonna give you some more music from the homie. Below, find a stream of his TiRon remix project, EX MSTRD. If you dig it, download it. And if you dig his production, reach out to the homie. Enjoy.
I keep telling folks to look out for Sauce Fonda. The dude is definitely a producer on the rise that you should pay close attention to. Check out his Big L "MVP" remembrance remix. And when you're done with that I'll be hitting you with his TiRon remix project. Enjoy this joint in the meantime. Chea!
It's been a while since I've posted a track from theOTHERSIDE. I mean, I've posted a few of Keno's (the emcee) tracks and some of Sauce Fonda's (the producer) tracks but nothing together in a while. Well, the new track from theOTHERSIDE, "Grape Dutch" featuring Joe Crush and Draft, is a great way to comeback. The track will be featured on the upcoming EP Rocky & Bullwinkle. Enjoy this track in the meantime. Chea!
You'd probably think that me and Sauce Fonda are in a secret conspiracy to bring you new and remixed music nightly. We aren't. That dude is just having a good music making weekend. Check out this latest remix to Cobra Starship's "Good Girls Gone Bad." The dude tries his hand at a different genre and does his damn thing. Oh and his beats are STILL for sale. Enjoy.
Last night I gave your some of Sauce Fonda's beats for sale and tonight, I give you his remix to Janelle Monae's "Tightrope." Yeah, Sauce definitely does his thing on this track. Check it out.
The homie Sauce Fonda (1/2 of theOTHERSIDE) is good peoples and his beats are dope. He's produced a few things for me in the past, including The Mad Bloggers Show's intro music. He's on a beat sale mission right now and uploaded four tracks to his bandcamp, all created in the same day. These jawns are dope and if you think you're fresh and looking for beats, you might wanna jump on buying one (or all) of these. If you're interested, hit him on twitter at saucefonda. Chea!
As the story goes, Sauce sent me a track that he produced featuring Keno (both of theOTHERSIDE) that was on EPonym's OverAchiever EP. I dug the track. I posted it. And then sought out more of EP's music. I caught this track also off of OverAchiever. The whole project is fresh but damn this track went straight repeat for a while. Enjoy "WhereTheHeartIs," the track of the week.
EPonym teams up with theOTHERSIDE for this track off his new project. Keno on the feature, Sauce on the beat and DJ Jun on the cuts. Yeah, good stuff! Enjoy!
