Return of the Real: YC The Cynic Falls Forward
“Don’t fall back, you better fall forward…”
As you know I write a column over at RefinedHype.com called Return of the Real. This week, I featured up and coming Bronx emcee YC The Cynic. YC has been featured all over the place over the last year and some still sleep on the gifted lyricist. Stop doing that. Ha! Anyway, check out my interview with him. Enjoy. Chea!

Download ... e.d.g.e. "The 29th Year"
I'm excited about this project for two reasons. 1) e.d.g.e. is dope (and his music should be heard). 2) I did the artwork. So, check out this project presented by the good folks over at RefinedHype.com. Fresh from beginning to end. Enjoy! Chea!
An EP that's technically been almost 30 years in the making, RefinedHype approved emcee e.d.g.e. has finally dropped off his "The 29th Year EP", a project that seamlessly showcases e.d.g.e.'s always quality bars and aggressively creative vision over eight dope tracks.Download: The 29th Year
In addition to relentless rhymes from e.d.g.e., "The 29th Year EP" contains vocals from My City vet Jeff Spec, Claire Mortifee, Dave Ryan and Jaykin, in addition to production from the headliner himself, Roswell, Beewirks, So Sleazy, Con?One and Sichuan. As an added bonus, those who download will find some bonus freeverses. We know, you're welcome. (via Refined Hype)

Check It ... Jones Andrews “Came a Long Way” (Thirty-Two-Tuesdays Week 17)
Another week, another rhyme from Jones Andrews. Just beyond the half-way mark of his Thirty-Two-Tuesdays series, sponsored by RefinedHype.com and Flight School Music, Andrews enters week 17 with an original track. Actually the second half of the series will be all original tracks, which will allow Andrews to continue to flex his lyrical abilities. This weeks jawn produced by DJ Qvali definitely starts the second half in a strong way. Check out the track and more about the Thirty-Two-Tuesdays series over at RefinedHype.com [click link for track/info].

Check It ... Jones Andrews “The Irony” (Thirty Two Tuesdays #11)
I've been sleeping on this project, as many of the emails have just been getting buried in the inbox. Anyway, each Tuesday for the next 32 weeks (week 11 now) Jones Andrew is dropping 32 bars over 32 different beats in what he's calling Thirty Two Tuesdays. The series is sponsored by RefinedHype.com, along with Flight School Music. It's definitely an interesting concept. Dope too. Check out his latest offering.

RefinedHype: 1 Year Anniversary Edition (Mixtape)
Enjoy.
One year ago DJBooth launched its partner site RefinedHype.com, and we’re proud to say that the response has been beyond anything we could have imagined. As a thank you to all the fans, artists, promoters and bartenders who have supported our mission over the past year, we’ve put together an all-exclusive mixtape, which we’ve perhaps not-so-cleverly titled RefinedHype: 1 Year Anniversary Edition (hey, at least it’s direct).
Mixed by former Best of the Booth Vol. 1 creator DJ Critical Hype, 1 Year Anniversary features brand new cuts from some of the emcees who frequented our pages heavily over the past 365 days, including K. Sparks, K. Beta, The Black Sunn, Mike Schpitz, King Mez, Dominique Larue and many, many more.
To the artists who contributed to the mixtape, the hundreds of others who’ve shared their dopeness on the site, the fans and the countless others who’ve supported RefinedHype, thank you. We can’t wait to show you what we have in store for the second year.
