TMB Presents Otis Hamilton

The reworked Otis Redding x Anthony Hamilton compilation simply called Otis Hamilton. It’s about the break up. Then the make up. Taking it back to the tape you use to make to cope. Don't worry, I'm not going through anything. Ha! I'm just pulling together a story using two of my favorite artist. Press play and enjoy the music. Chea!

TMB Presents Jinesis feat. C-Mone "This Is How We Do"

Last year I linked up with Jinesis, the NYC based producer and TMB affiliate for the Otis Redding Sampled Beat Tape. I pitched Jinesis the idea and he knocked it out of the park. It's still one of our most successful presented projects to date. Earlier this year Jin and I started throwing around the idea of revisiting the project and having some of our favorite emcees jump on the tracks. Over the last few months we've been shopping the beats and collecting verses. Today, we're proud to release the first single featuring the UK based award winning C-Mone. The girl is dope and we have some more in the works but until then, This Is How We Do. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Jinesis "No Regrets" from Otisis (An Otis Redding Beat Tape)

No Regrets (Jinesis cuts his hair off) from Jinesis on Vimeo.

It's like everyone is shedding the dreads. My brother did it earlier this year and now the homie Jinesis sits down in the barber chair for a fresh cut. Jinesis has been featured on the blog several times, including The Mad Bloggers presented Otisis. The dude is a talented producer from New York City and Otisis was our brain child. I'm a lifelong Otis Redding fan and shared a vision with Jinesis and he went well above my greatest expectations in chopping up Redding samples to put together Otisis. On Redding's birthday we cracked a monumental number on downloads over at bandcamp and Jinesis shared with me the news that he was going to cut his hair. I couldn't believe it. I didn't believe it. Not until I saw this video. I hardly recognized him at the end of the vid. I salute the brother and look forward to this next chapter of music. Chea!
Here's a video of me cutting my hair. "So what?" you might say, but my hair was as signature to me as my beats. I locked my hair 10 years ago at the beginning of the summer and at the end of this summer, I "un-locked" my hair. Full circle. Completion. New beginnings. I also did over 5 free beat projects in that time as well as grow personally as much as my shoulder length hair did. In 2012 There will be an actual music project from me to support. I look forward to this new, fresh chapter! Thank for everyone's support and listening ear!

TMB Presents: "Otisis" Jinesis Produced & Otis Redding Sampled Beat Tape

Two fresh singles. And now we're here. I'm proud to present Otisis.

Folks that know me well, know how much I enjoy the work of Otis Redding. The passion in his voice, and the heartfelt feelings behind his music have long resonated with me. And to think the body of work he created was done in such a short period of time considering his untimely death. But his music lives on.

Folks who follow the blog also know how much I've come to respect the work of New York producer Jinesis. His music has been featured on the site numerous times, whether as an individual post or by way of a production credit for another artist. The dude is talented.

During one of our online convos about music I pitched Jinesis the idea of sampling Otis Redding tracks. I won't take credit for the creation of this incredible project, I just planted the seed. Jinesis truly bought this project to life and made it his own. He hit the ground running, taking inspiration from every day life and applying it to the beat creation on Otisis. You can feel his passion in the production.

I'm proud and very pleased with what he created. Jinesis is a very talented producer and Otisis is some of his finest work. Hit play and vibe out to the smooth samplings of Otis Redding as interpreted by Jinesis. Enjoy. Chea!

Jinesis "Maliah" (from Otisis)

Folks that know me well, know how much I enjoy the work of Otis Redding. Those who have followed the blog long enough also know how much I've come to respect the work of New York producer Jinesis. And so a few months back during one of our online convos about music I pitched him an idea to take Otis Redding tracks and flip 'em. Jinesis jumped on board with no hesitation and hit the ground running. Over the last few weeks I've been anxious and overly excited about this project and sharing it with all of you. Jinesis is a very talented producer and soon enough folks will understand and respect that. We are approaching one of his finest hours. And to intro the first preview from Otisis, I'll let Jinesis take it from here...

"Maliah mentioned on twitter that a lot of dudes are afraid to date her seriously because they dont want the attention that comes with dating a dancer/model/vixen. That candid, world weary and personal tweet came from a sensitive place and once Jinesis sat with the sample the sentiment echoed. This a glimpse into one of the beats from the Jinesis produced Otis Redding sampled project "Otisis" presented by The Mad Bloggers."

Entirely produced by Jinesis.
Mixed and Arranged by Jinesis & Frado

Single artwork design by Fresh Daily
