What I'm Watching: Elle Maxwell "Dreams"

A lot of folks will jump on a popular current hit and follow the trend everyone else is following (see Marvin's Room). Few dare to reach back. And that's why I dig Elle Maxwell, because she remains bold. She returns with the latest in her RUSHOUR series by  attacking The Cranberries' "Dreams." Fresh. I definitely dig what she did here. Enjoy. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Elle Maxwell "Piano in the Dark" (remix)

As I began to write this post, I thought to myself how many times I've started a post with "Elle Maxwell is dope." I mean, she is dope and every time I peep a new cut from the DMV artist, formerly known as Lola Maxwell, I can't help but to say it again. So, Elle Maxwell is dope. With her new project, RUSH EP, in the works and scheduled to drop this summer, she returns with a dope spin on the Brenda Russell "Piano in the Dark" track, and video for that matter. I dig it. Enjoy. Chea!

Elle Maxwell "Love Crimes'

The DMV emcee Elle Maxwell is back with some new music over the Frank Ocean "Love Crimes" track. Featured on her upcoming RUSHour, Elle jumps right in with "in your sleep, I cut you with a knife ... I didn't even care to think about it twice" in her opening line, and the track takes off from there. Yeah, I wouldn't cross Elle in a relationship. Ha! Enjoy "Love Crimes." Chea!

Check It ... Lola Maxwell "Free Falling"

I really dig Elle Maxwell's personality. Oh and I dig her music too. A combination of the two is what makes her a dope artist to me. I mean, she's doing a video chilling, twisting her hair and could care less about an edit. Ha! She wants you to know who she is, as a person as well as a musician.

I just did a feature on Elle over at RefinedHype.com. Check that out and check out this diary-esque video featuring a new track from Elle's upcoming EP. Enjoy. Chea!

What I'm Watching ... Whatever Lola Wants

Whatever Lola Wants from Elle Maxwell on Vimeo.

She's still Lola but you might find her these days going by Elle Maxwell. The DMV emcee has been featured on the blog a few times, with her recent projects Basik Edukation and The Black Madonna Soundtrack. She's talented and I definitely dig what she does. In the docu-style vid, she delivers a freestyle and an update on projects. Check it out.

What I'm Watching ... Era of Escapism - Lola Maxwell

There is something about the music Lola Maxwell creates. And the vision that comes along with it. I've been posting Lola's music on the site since last March and have not been disappointed yet. Check out her new vid for "Era of Escapism."

Download ... @LolaMaxwell "The Black Madonna Soundtrack"

The first time I heard Lola Maxwell I thought she was dope. The first track was "Assembly", right before the release of her project Basik Edukation. From that track and project, I found myself backtracking and checking out her older music and videos. Her musical vision is dope. Her new project, The Black Madonna Soundtrack, presented by The Connoisseur Mag is on the next level for Maxwell's vision. The sample heavy project is dope from the first track through the end. 80's tracks with new generation rhymes, The Black Madonna is definitely worth the download and listen. Check out one of my favorite cuts and if you dig it, get the full project.

Check It ... @LolaMaxwell "Black Madonna (Y.O.U.)"

Lola Maxwell is dope. I first caught the twenty something year old DC born and raised emcee when she was pushing her Basik Edukation project. The first track I recall hearing from her "Assembly." The track was (is) so fresh. A few weeks later when Basik Edukation dropped and it was filled with so many dope cuts. It still gets rotation from me. Now Lola is back pushing new music with her single "Black Madonna (Y.O.U.)." Fresh. Enjoy.
