Interview: Miss Special x J. Good

Right after releasing his latest project "Bluffington High", J. Good skyped with Miss Special to speak about all things related to it. He explains the idea behind it, the development of Douglas Pinderhughes; a mix of cartoon Doug Funny and Duncan Pinderhughes from "Class Act", and why he chose to carry on this character from his last project "The Journal of Douglas Pinderhughes". He also spoke about the viral secrets he created for that project that were inspired by "Cloverfield", as well as where to find them.

In addition, he spoke about collaborating with Vancouver's Peril Threads and the idea behind the t-shirt design. He also talked about the features on the project including producers Abjo and Jordan Nakanishi, and emcees Co$$, King Mez, TBC's Konkwest and Dceased, Chuuwee, Haz Solo, and Keno. He also gave an update on the T.U.S project and The Avengers project.

Upcoming he has projects with J. Lately, French producer Oster, Virginia producers JM Productions, a full length with Jackson Nakanishi, and 16 year old New York producer Nazzy which might be the soundtrack of his black exploitation film.

Check It ... J.Good - "The Rush ft. Ayomari & KENO"

One of those dope Hip-Hop relationship tracks that causes you to nod your head rhythmically and indulge in the lyrics in a way to make you relate them to what you may be going through. Check it.

TUS (the Usual Suspects) member J.Good (Sacramento) drops the first leak off of his debut album "Look On The Bright Side". This track features artists such as, Ayomari (Los Angeles) and KENO (Sacramento), also a TUS member. "The Rush" is a song about relationships, where each MC expresses their individual experiences with women. The story-based sixteens, are accompanied by the soulful production of up and coming producer, Jansport J.

Download ... J. Good "Scrubs: The Lost Mixtape"

It's quite possible that Sacramento could be our next stop on our Journey to Hip-Hop series because I've been stumbling upon quite a bit of talented emcees from the area.

J. Good, another example of the Hip-Hop coming out of Sacramento. While I've been hard on folks dropping projects with more than 10 tracks, his 21 tracks do deliver. The television show Scrubs provides the story line, while J. Good flows over a few industry beats. Overall it's a good project. Check out a few of my favorite cuts off the project, "Keep Pushin" and "Passing Me By(The Friend Zone)", and if you're digging 'em, go ahead and download the full project.
