Interview: Miss Special x Big Remo

Miss Special of Special Sundays Radio Show chats with Jamla's Big Remo at A3C. They speak about the chemistry between him and 9th Wonder coming from the same city, as well as "beat hoarding" 9th and The Soul Council's beats. They also speak about the idea behind his message of "glorifying the hood", his favorite Slick Rick song, and what a song with him and Slick Rick would be like. "That's my dream right there. If I can get Slick Rick on a track we're gonna paint a picture, we're gonna make a movie. Miramax will probably gonna have to produce the video."

He also speaks on his next project "Hero" and how important it is to be held accountable for what you say. "As you can see on Twitter now I'm verified. You gotta account for everything you say now. So now is the time that I feel like I gotta focus mostly on what I have to account for. These new rappers are very very talented.. Just gotta keep up with them and write better than them and harder and more content, good lyrical content."

Interview: Miss Special x BJ The Chicago Kid

I'm not gonna front and say I didn't sleep on BJ The Chicago Kid. Even after hearing him on hook after hook, I still didn't have his project. But then one day, I was like, shit, I just need to get that. I did. After running through it for the first time, I was kind of pissed I slept on it for so long. Pineapple Now-Laters is one of the strongest overall projects released this year and definitely one of the best R&B/Soul joints. If you aren't up on it, don't make the mistake I did and sleep any longer. Anyway, our good friend Miss Special caught up with BJ down at A3C. Peep their interview up top.
While at A3C I got to chat with BJ The Chicago Kid again about his upcoming collaborations and album on Motown Records. He says that a Jill Scott collaboration will happen and describes what it will be like. He also says that a Jojo song is in the works they just both need to find the right time and the right vibe. He also speaks about an upcoming track with Chuck Inglish that he's waiting for Chuck to release but says it's so hot he might have to steal it if it's not released soon enough. He also speaks about opening up for Anthony Hamilton and reminisces about hearing Hamilton's album for the first time. Additionally, he talks about the highlight of his live show and working on tracks to release before his Motown Records album.

Interview: Miss Special x YC The Cynic & Yuri Beats

While in Brooklyn two weeks ago, OC Supreme and I caught up with Miss Special, meeting our West Coast ally for the first time. She's just as cool in person. Having moved out East for an internship, she hasn't slowed down one bit. Peep her latest interview with YC The Cynic and Yuri Beats. Chea!
Miss Special caught up with YC The Cynic and Yuri Beats at the release party for their project “Good Morning, Midnight”.

The two gave hilariously different versions of how they met and decided to work together. "I was walking the desert and the moment I thought there was no human life form I came across Yuri Beats and it was the most amazing experience ever because he had water and I was like wow, we should make music" says YC The Cynic. Yuri Beats followed up by telling a slightly different version about how he saw YC The Cynic perform at South Paw, to which YC The Cynic responds "the stories have to match bro".

The two remarked on a comment made that their project was "like Drake, Kanye and The Pharcyde had a baby. Then YC raised it and released an album."

The two also spoke about their upcoming plans including Yuri Beats working on Nitty Scott MC's "Boombox Diaries Volume 1", as well as, Max Burgundy and eXquire and YC The Cynic's debut album "GNK".

Rocky Rivera is dope. Miss Special is dope. Peep their chop session. Ha!

Words By Miss Special

Rocky Rivera is a woman that along her career has held many amazing hats and alias'. "Miss Krish is the journalist. EyeASage is a member of the Rhapsodistas which has since disbanded.. Rocky Rivera is the woman sitting right here today. Oh and Dr. Rocky? She only comes out when you need her.. The mad scientist" Rocky Rivera explains.

Currently Rocky Rivera is a successful, underground, independent rapper with a great following of what she likes to call her "Rocky Soldiers". When Rocky Rivera visited Special Sundays Radio Show with Miss Special on KSFS, it was like a walk down memory lane. Most of her path to success started there at San Francisco State University.

J57: Stand Out

Shot and cut by Jav Martinez for theREELness, Brooklyn emcee/producer J57 of the Brown Bag AllStars and TMB favorite talks about his beatmaking process. Definitely a cool behind the scenes look at one of the talented voices/sounds behind BBAS and others. But he doesn't do all the work by himself, so look out for J57's co-producer Suri57 with the cameo. He's got a new project on the way. In the meantime, enjoy this piece on J57.
