What I'm Watching ... Guante - "Confessions of a White Rapper" (New Poem)

It was a unanimous decision to post this. Q said he always liked Guante's work. EMS says it got her a little emotional. I had to watch it on repeat. Very strong poem. Very dope poem. Hit play, turn your volume up, listen then put your fucking hands up!

Download ... @ElGuante + @BigCatsbeats "Don't Be Nice"

Guante is a pretty dope spoken word artist. On Don't Be Nice, he takes that fresh spoken word sound to rhyme with beats provided by Big Cats! on a project executive produced by e.g. bailey + Sha Cage. Front to back, it's a very fresh project. Check it out.

What I'm Watching ... Kyle (Guante) Myhre @ the National Poetry Slam

Spoken word has always been dope to me. I use to love Def Poetry Jam. There is something so fresh about spoken word. Anyway, I caught this from Guante. It's footage from a piece he did in the semifinals of the National Poetry Slam. It's dope and you should take a minute (or three) to check it out. Enjoy.

Flyover Land Mixtape Vol 1.

Flyover Land Vol. 1 is a compilation mixtape from Midwest Broadcast featuring some exclusive and unreleased tracks from some talented emcees and producers out of the Midwest.

“It’s named Flyover Land in reference to the common notion that the Midwest is a region not known for producing proficient hip-hop artists, and can thus be overlooked,” according to the email that accompanied the link to the download.

There are some dope artists out of the Midwest, many of which have been featured on The Mad Bloggers page. So I was definitely pleased when I received the link and definitely pleased after downloading and listening to the project. Flyover Land includes artists like Soulcrate Music, Heiruspecs, Guante, M.anifest, Muja Messiah and many others. There are sixteen quality tracks and uninterrupted hip-hop (that’s right, no DJ yelling over the first 60 seconds of each song).
