What I'm Watching: G-Eazy "Marilyn" feat. Dominique LeJeune
I like G-Eazy. Even as his popularity continues to grow, the dude definitely comes off with a great deal of humility that is often lost in Hip-Hop. I respect that. Fresh off of some college dates and shows with A$AP Rocky, he's gearing up for more big things this year including the Van's Warped Tour. And as a lead up to a big summer, G-Eazy drops off the video for the Dominique LeJeune assisted self produced cut, Marilyn, directed by Tyler Yee. I dig it. Keep your eye out for more from G-Eazy but in the meantime, enjoy the vid. Chea!

G-Eazy "Lost in Translation"
A cool new track from TMB favorite G-Eazy. On his newest cut, he delivers up Lost in Translation, a track adapted from "PONPONPON", a catchy J-Pop song by きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅ (aka Kyary Pamyu Pamyu). Alongside the Swiss Chriss and Christoph Andersson assisted cut is a rework of Bill Murray's Lost in Translation movie cover art. Another solid offering from the New Orleans by way of Cali rapper. Enjoy.

What I'm Watching: G-Eazy "All I Could Do"
This is one of my favorite tracks off of G-Eazy's The Endless Summer project. Shot by Matty B during the first week on tour with Shwayze, Cisco Adler & MOD SUN and edited by G-Eazy in a hotel room in Denver during a day off. And that's a pretty dope back story. Enjoy All I Could Do. Chea!

G-Eazy "Mercedes Benz (The American Dream)" feat. Janis Joplin
Man, whatcha know about Janis Joplin? I've got a few Joplin cuts in my iTunes collection and Mercedes Benz is one of my favorite joints. Joplin just had this incredible voice. G-Eazy lends that voice to his new track. I dig it. Hit play and enjoy. Chea!
I was digging through my mom's record collection and stumbled upon Janis Joplin's 'Pearl' record. I had heard "Mercedes Benz" before, but it had been a few years. It was one of those moments where I instantly jumped up, and decided it would be a dope song to flip. The concept is so relate-able, and the passion is so present in her voice. The original is an acapella, so I wrote some chords and called my homie John Michael over to lay down some acoustic guitar parts down behind her vocal. I'm stoked on how it came out.Mercedes Benz (The American Dream) ft. Janis Joplin by g-eazy

G-Eazy "The Endless Summer"
A solid offering from G-Eazy on his newest The Endless Summer released a few days ago over at DJBooth with Pigeons & Planes and Mostly Junk Food. I've been rocking with G-Eazy since the homie Chad over at Dunuts and Milk put me on to the dude. His latest joint has that old school and chill feel. I definitely dig that. With a few features and all beats courtesy of G-Eazy, (except “Hang Ten” prod. DJ Jive), “Acting Up” co-prod. Tyler Ginsberg and “Outta Pocket (Remix)” prod. DJ Carnage), The Endless Summer is worth the download. Enjoy. Chea!

G-Eazy "The Outsider"
I definitely have to thank the homie Chad over at DonutsandMilk.com for putting me on to G-Eazy. The dude is definitely dope and his latest project, The Outsider is fresh. The Cali emcee out of New Orleans puts together a pretty solid project. Hit play and enjoy. Chea!

Check It (3/31/11): Music From Shane Eli, Blitz The Ambassador, G-Eazy and B.I.C.
So, it's Thursday. What are you listening to?
Here are a few joints I've received via email or bumped into on the Internets. This Thursday's offering comes from Shane Eli, Blitz The Ambassador, G-Eazy and B.I.C. . Enjoy. Chea!
The homie Shane Eli really delivers on his newest track, "The Night is Young", off his I Can Do Better project dropping soon. Jason Caesar provides the vocals on this smooth track that is being called "a bedroom burner." Ha! Definitely a dope track. Salute to the brother Shane Eli.
I really hope folks aren't still sleeping on Blitz The Ambassador. He's an incredible emcee, with bars and so much raw talent. Yesterday he released this fresh track, "Dear Africa", featuring Les Nubians. A dope and fresh track from the Ghana-born-New-York-based Blitz. He's currently working on Native Sun, due out in May. In the meantime, enjoy "Dear Africa."
I really fucks with this G-Eazy "Outta Pocket" joint featuring Chippy Nonstop. I have to thank Chad over at DonutsandMilk.com for putting me on to this joint. This track is from G-Eazy's The Outsider project.
This is more of a laid back track from my high energy brothers B.I.C. There's so much potential from these young guys who rocked at our last Independent's Day Showcase. This track is off producer Chuk's new tape Concord (Hadji: The Beat Konstructa). Enjoy.

Check It (3/15/11): Music from J. Cole, Vandalyzm, e.d.g.e., Big K.R.I.T. and G-Eazy
This is kind of a new style for me to combine some of the dope tracks (and videos) I've received via email or bumped into on the Internets. I'll update Tuesdays and Thursdays. Tuesday's offering comes from J. Cole, Vandalyzm, e.d.g.e., Big K.R.I.T. and G-Eazy.
I caught this J. Cole "Killers" joint early this morning. According to Cole it's an older joint that comes from the vaults of the previously unreleased. It's dope.
Vandalyzm offers up a nothing ass verse with a hook on a beat. Yes, that's the name of the track too. As Vandalyzm wrote, "not going to fake the listener out, this is just me rhyming ill bars over a dope beat that I made, pretty simple right?" Simple concept indeed. Dope too. Look out for Vandalyzm Is The Stepfather soon.
If you've been following the blog long enough, you know the homie e.d.g.e. is a regular on the site. A few weeks back he was dropping three tracks per week. He's scaled that back a little. Check out his Shane Eli produced track, "The Opposition". Look out for his All Flow Everything project coming soon.
Big K.R.I.T. offers up another great cut from his upcoming ReturnOf4Eva. On the self produced track K.R.I.T. continues to impress me. Honestly, I haven't met a K.R.I.T. track that I didn't like.
Last but not least, the homie Chad over at DonutsandMilk.com hit me with this joint from G-Eazy off his upcoming The Outsider mixtape. This open letter to Amber Rose is definitely a winner in my book.
Enjoy these five cuts from some dope and talented emcees. Chea!
J. Cole - Killers
Vandalyzm - Nothing Ass Verse, With A Hook On A Beat
e.d.g.e. - Opposition
Big K.R.I.T. - American Rapstar
G-Eazy - Dear Ms. Rose
