How many dope emcees can you fit in one track before your repeat function stops working? These cats don't play on that mic. New joint off Diamond D's "The Diam Piece" album, which features a boat load of emcees with extensive Hip-Hop credentials, and it's out now!
A lot of folks (myself included) have been waiting for a solo project from Phonte and on September 27th the Little Brother and Foreign Exchange member will serve up Charity Starts at Home. Not Here Anymore is his first offering from the project with 9th Wonder on production and Elzhi on the feature. Definitely a solid track. Hit play and enjoy. Chea!
I know I can't be the only one still listening to ELZHI's ELmatic. While in a sleepy haze from working four 2am-10:30am shifts in a row, I stumbled onto the new vid from ELZHI for "It Ain't Hard to Tell." Will Sessions on the track and Michael Castelaz behind the lens. Dope video. Enjoy.
Eternia is back. With the first track since she released At Last with producer MoSS, Eternia adds to "One Love" off of Elzhi's Elmatic. One thing Eternia (who just celebrated her birthday last week) has never been shy about through her music is baring all. And on this track, she definitely bares more of her personal story. "I related so much to the person that Elzhi describes in 'One Love'," Eternia said. "A lot of her experiences - not all, but many - mirrored my own life." Enjoy. One love.
sidebar: I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Eternia this year at The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival (along with Homeboy Sandman, Shad and headliner Q-Tip, among others).
At this point in the day, I hope you've downloaded this joint already. But, if you haven't you're welcome in advance.
In the midst of a few other projects dropping today, Detroit's own Elzhi dropped Elmatic over at XXL. In what is a tribute to Nas' classic illmatic, Elzhi recreates the music with the help of Will Sessions, giving it a unique twist. The project is dope and creative and free (you can however order a physical copy). So heads with excuses on why they aren't downloading this are bitches. Yeah, that's right. Ha! Enjoy. Chea!
For those of you that might have missed this track by Slum Village's Elzhi, here you go. This bonus track is off of Elzhi's Elmatic Mixtape which is an ode to Nas' Illmatic and is set to drop on May 10th. I'm a few days late with this myself but better late than never on dopeness like this. Check it
It's Thursday and I offer up two dope videos that I caught via email. Today, you get a solid offering from Elzhi and Vakill. Enjoy.
Vakill offers up a video with a lot of twists for his Panik produced track "I Came 4 U", off the upcoming Armor of God, due out 6/14. Enjoy the Sense Hernandez directed video.
Folks are definitely looking forward to the new Elzhi project, the elmatic (a free album that serves as a tribute to Nas' Illmatic), due out May 10. I'm one of those people. Elzhi offers up the Gerard Victor video for "Halftime" featuring Will Sessions, to hold us over. Enjoy.
Tonight Black Milk and company will be at Southpaw in Brooklyn for his Album of The Year Release Affair. With performances from Black Milk, Guilty Simpson, Sean Price and Elzhi, this should be one hell of an event. You should check it out.
I hear this Black Milk "Album of the Year" project is crazy! I need to get an advance copy to preview but like the rest of folks, I'm willing to wait for the official release! Anyway, here's something new for you to enjoy in the meantime. Check the visuals for Deadly Medley. Chea!
Drake featuring Phonte and Elzhi???? Wow. Track's called Think Good Thoughts produced by none other that 9th Wonder himself sampling Anita Baker's Sweet Love. Check it.
