Blitz is readying his latest release with the visuals to "Make You No Forget" featuring Seun Kuti. Been a fan of his for a minute. Links to pre-irder is at the bottom. Peep the video.
Blitz the Ambassador returns to his homeland Ghana to direct the video for 'Make You No Forget' featuring Afro-Beat star Seun Kuti.
Blitz hits one out the park with this track from 'The Warm Up EP' dropping August 2013. This joint is perfect for riding through New York City streets with the colume up.
'African In New York' chronicles the colorful immigrant life in NYC from an African perspective. From the Bootleggers on Canal street to the Dollar cab drivers to the Restaurants Uptown, everybody gets a shout out over this banging Blitz production complete with live guitars and signature horns.
DIKEMBE! Inspired by one of the greatest shot blockers and defensive players to ever bless the NBA. Dikembe Mutombo.
J. Ivy x Blitz the Ambassador. How can you go wrong with this combination? That's right, you can't. Straight dopeness here. Enjoy the music. And don't forget there's a war going on. Boom!
Here are a few joints I've received via email or bumped into on the Internets. This Thursday's offering comes from Shane Eli, Blitz The Ambassador, G-Eazy and B.I.C. . Enjoy. Chea!
The homie Shane Eli really delivers on his newest track, "The Night is Young", off his I Can Do Better project dropping soon. Jason Caesar provides the vocals on this smooth track that is being called "a bedroom burner." Ha! Definitely a dope track. Salute to the brother Shane Eli.
I really hope folks aren't still sleeping on Blitz The Ambassador. He's an incredible emcee, with bars and so much raw talent. Yesterday he released this fresh track, "Dear Africa", featuring Les Nubians. A dope and fresh track from the Ghana-born-New-York-based Blitz. He's currently working on Native Sun, due out in May. In the meantime, enjoy "Dear Africa."
I really fucks with this G-Eazy "Outta Pocket" joint featuring Chippy Nonstop. I have to thank Chad over at DonutsandMilk.com for putting me on to this joint. This track is from G-Eazy's The Outsider project.
This is more of a laid back track from my high energy brothers B.I.C. There's so much potential from these young guys who rocked at our last Independent's Day Showcase. This track is off producer Chuk's new tape Concord (Hadji: The Beat Konstructa). Enjoy.
Blitz the Ambassador's "Stereotype" is a very strong album. The dude Blitz is incredible. And his music is meaningful. Check out the visuals for "Something to Believe," directed by Terence Nance. Enjoy.
Premiering today at OkayPlayer.com, "Something to Believe," addresses the detachment we all battle when faced with the the world’s overwhelming issues. “It’s hard to think about all the problems in the world without getting a little overwhelmed. So, a lot of times we just ignore things. I think Africa has suffered a lot because people choose to remain ignorant, rather than address the issues that are right in front of our faces,” Blitz said.
"Something to Believe," is the second film collaboration between director Terence Nance and Blitz the Ambassador. In early 2010, Terence and Blitz teamed up to film Live Sessions, a video series documenting the making of Blitz' EP, StereoLive.
Sunday capped of The Mad Bloggers weekend of Hip-Hop with a free concert for the official launch event for OKAYAFRICA, presented by CELEBRATE BROOKLYN! at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY. We got there about an hour late but as we shuffled through the crowd, it felt and looked like we got there four hours late. It was jam packed. I can't tell whether it was because of the price of admission or the artists that were set to perform. What I can tell is that all walks of life was in attendance. And in abundance as well. Packed, I tell you. So much so that they shut down people from entering. That didn't stop most from hoping over a 4 foot fence. Q and I even saw the homie Statik Selektah and friends get their Olympic hurdle on. Hahaha. It was that serious. From cops trying to curb the fence jumping, to people having all out picnics, to the beer guzzlers to the regular fans, it was quite an event. At the end of the night with all the positives and negatives, it was a great, great night for music. Hope you didn't miss it. If you did, this is the best I can do for you considering I was mostly in fan mode and less in work mode. Haha. Check it!

Stop. Sleeping. On. Blitz. I keep telling folks this. I've been following dude for a while now. Shoot, maybe I'm late to finding him but I know there's a lot of folks not even paying attention. They definitely should be. Blitz is dope. I've never seen him preform live but I heard it's quite the experience. So, O hits me up with the info on the show in Brooklyn the same weekend I'll be hanging heavy in Brooklyn for the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. So, guess who's hanging around Brooklyn a little longer. That's right, this guy. If you're in the area, you'd want to check Blitz x The Roots x Talib Kweli x more.
This summer promises to be a major one for Blitz the Ambassador and his Ensemble. Last week we announced the historic SummerStage show with Blitz and Public Enemy at Central Park. As Ghana makes its second appearance at the World Cup, it is one of the African teams with high expectations of reaching the finals. Lets keep our fingers crossed. GO GHANA!!! GO!!!!
You know who's super dope? This guy -----> Blitz the Ambassador! Yep. I've been checking dude out for a bit and his music continues to impress me - deep rooted in classic Hip-Hop with it's heavy jazz overtones and coupled with Blitz's serious word play. Translation, Blitz is dope. Check out "Something to Believe" featuring Tess, off the StereoLive EP. The vid was directed by Terence Nance of the MVMT. The Live Session performance will air on MTV2 and MTVu.
Check out this joint, "Remembering The Future" performed live by Blitz The Ambassador at The Roots/OkayPlayer Holiday Jammy. It's dope! The homie Blitz has definitely been making moves throughout 2009 and I'm looking forward to more great music from him coming into the new year. And his team is looking forward to the same, "Look out for 2010 to be the year that Blitz busts that door off its hinges and smashes it to splinters."
I caught this from the homie over at Move Forward Music. Check out Blitz the Ambassador talking about the making of his Live Sessions video and EP featuring John Forte, Bajah, and Kate Mattison. Enjoy the preview and full song below.
I caught this in an email just before Thanksgiving. I wanted to post it then but was busy catching up with fam and trying to enjoy some much needed downtime. I'm back to it and I'm definitely looking forward to this series. The homie Blitz the Ambassador is dope and I very much enjoy what he brings to music! Check out a brief descrip about the project, the trailer, plus a snippet from one of the tracks recorded! ENJOY!
"Check out this footage of Blitz the Ambassador, from the MTVu House Band series, recorded at Royal Blue Studios in Brooklyn, a completely analog facility run by platinum engineer/producer Robert Honablue (Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Sly & the Family Stone, Leonard Bernstein, Aretha Franklin). Blitz recorded five songs during the session with a beefed up, 12-piece version of his Embassy Ensemble and several special guests, including John Forte and Bajah (of the Dry Eye Crew). The recording process was documented over a series of eight videos, which include interviews with Honablue, the special guests, Blitz himself and live footage of the songs "Kill the Radio", "Remembering the Future", "Nothing to Lose", "Dying to Live", and "Something to Believe". The video series will be released in succession after the holiday weekend."

Now I am sure many sites have this mixtape and being that it's a really good one from a really talented artist named Blitz The Ambassador, I figure I'd help spread the word. For those who speak about the lack of quality in Hip Hop, here's your chance to hear proof that it's not dead, just being pushed to the side for more gimmicky, temporarily profitable crap. Check it out....
Check out the live performance from Blitz the Ambassador performing with The Mighty Embassy Ensemble. STEREOTYPE in stores August 4th. Caught dude a few months back. Thought he was dope then. He's still dope now too! Check it out!
Gotta thank Q for this one. Just IM'd me the picture you see below and then the YouTube link with no introduction to it. I took a look at it and immediately asked him if there was a place I can buy that shirt. IMMEDIATELY!!!! Wow. What a statement in a picture with no words. It's saying a lot. Way more than a thousand words with that pic.
The artist's name is Blitz The Ambassador and according to the flyers he has posted on his MySpace page, he's performed at shows that included artists like Rakim, Styles P., Nas, Fabolous, Slick Rick, Akon, Freeway, Dead Prez, Public Enemy, Black Ice, Amanda Diva, and my all-time favorite The Legendary Roots Crew. Yet, I've never heard of him before now. Wow. Not proud of that. But... in any case, I am educating myself on Blitz and if you love hip hop, you should too.
Here's a video of him performing "Radio" with a live acoustic band..
