Andy Suzuki & The Method "Lucy" (Live at Quad Studios)
A few days ago the homies Andy Suzuki & The Method dropped off the cool visuals for Take Care Of Me from their The Ghost Stories EP. But these guys are always working on new music. Recently Andy stepped into Quad Studios to record a live acoustic version of Lucy from their upcoming project. Shouts to Chris O'Konski behind the lens. I'm a big fan of Andy and the crew, and I'm looking forward to more of their new stuff. In the meantime, enjoy this cool preview. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Andy Suzuki & The Method "Her Ghost"
That boy Andy got more tattoos than an NBA player. Ha! But on a more serious note, Andy Suzuki & The Method serve up a solid track off of their upcoming project The Ghost Stories EP, which you can pre-order here. I've long been a fan of the group, having known Kozza (band member) and Andy for a while now. These guys are talented and while I try to convince them to do a cover project, you'll have to enjoy Her Ghost, which is a solid track accompanied by a beautiful video. Hit play, enjoy and look for more from Andy Suzuki & The Method soon. Chea!

TMB Giveaway: Andy Suzuki and The Method Live
This Sunday night Andy Suzuki and The Method are rocking live down at SOB's in NYC. Earlier today Mr. Suzuki himself hit me up with two free tickets to catch him live. You know what I'm doing with those tickets? Giving them joints away to one lucky person for a dope way to spend a Sunday night. So, this is how it's going down.
1. You need to live in the tri-state area. I mean, unless you're trying to take a red eye from Cali or a midnight train FROM Georgia.
2. You need to answer these two question: What university did Andy Suzuki graduate from and what's his zodiac sign?
3. You need to hit me on either twitter (@throatchopu) or facebook with the answer before 5pm tomorrow (July 30, 2011).
4. Tomorrow at 6pm I will pick one winner and contact that person. If you don't win, you should definitely cop a ticket (or tickets) to catch a great show.
5. Sunday, if you're the winner you're in there like swim wear to catch Andy Suzuki and The Method live. You might even get to give Andy a high five before the show. No promises on that though. Ha!
Guaranteed to be a dope show. And for a feel for Andy's live set, check out his "All of the Lights" cover. Good luck.

Andy Suzuki & The Method "All of the Lights" (Kanye West cover)
Andy (lead vocals and piano) and Kozza (percussion) are good friends, who make good music. Both are funny as hell too. I once bumped into the duo by chance at Union Station in Washington DC and it was straight comedy for over an hour as we talked about a gang of random subjects. Recently at another sold out show at Joe's Pub in NYC, they took their own creative spin (with the help of the rest of Andy's band, The Method) on the popular Kanye West track, "All of the Lights." I dig their version. Enjoy. Chea!

Friday's Five Random Questions with Andy Suzuki
Andy Suzuki (center) and The Method
Andy Suzuki is one of my favorite people, even if you put music aside. The dude makes great music, he's really talented and he's funny as hell too!
His sound is hard to explain but his music is unforgettable. And while the dude exudes confidence, he's probably one of the humblest musicians I've ever met. Anyway, Andy decided to take the challenge this week. Check out how he answered five random questions.
Stats
Hometown: Washington DC
Current City: New York City
How long have you been doing music: Singing since day 1, playing with my band for three years.
Discography: "300 Pianos" - 13 track CD on iTunes/AmazonMP3/etc
Label: Independent
Describe your music in five words or less: Acoustic Pop
TMB: Aight, let's get to the questions. Who was your celebrity crush at age 10, 15 and now?
Andy: Age 10: Eliza Dushku. I saw "Bring It On" 5 times. Age 15: Apolo Anton Ohno. Long Story. He was my half-Japanese idol. Now: Mila Kunis. No contest.
TMB: What TV character would you be and why?
Andy: JD aka Zach Braff from Scrubs.
TMB: You're at dinner with five people from history (living or dead) who are they?
Andy: Mila Kunis, Jessica Alba, Adriana Lima, Scarlett Johansson and John Mayer. We would have a great time.
TMB: You're stranded on an island with one other album, which album is it? (not necessarily your own music)
Andy: Jason Mraz - Live At Java Joe's. It's his live shit before he got famous and it changed my life. Before listening to this album I exclusively listened to hip hop and RnB. This album put me on the singer-songwriter path.
TMB: Jesus and Kanye West are producing a track for you. What's the name of the song?
Andy: "I'mma let you finish but Jesus had one of the best Beatitudes of all time."

Check it ... Andy Suzuki and The Method "Free Hundred Pianos"
This is one of those projects I truly believe in, not only because I know Andy but because he makes great music. A while back he released 300 Pianos. Just recently he decided to drop an EP to give folks a taste of that project, Free Hundred Pianos. It's a project that you should definitely check out and if you like it, purchase the full package. Check out Andy's message below.
HEY, WHAT IS FREE HUNDRED PIANOS ANYWAYS?!
Good question, I'm glad you asked! It's 6 songs from my first full-length, independently released album, 300 Pianos. The entire 13-track album is available for purchase on iTunes, Rhapsody, CDBaby, AmazonMP3, and other stores across the internet.
I'm giving this EP away for free, so please feel free to do the same. Send this link to your friends: www.mediafire.com/freehundredpianos
The more people you can send it to the better. I am trying to gain as many fans as possible so I can live my dream...making a living playing music.
If you like Free Hundred Pianos, please email me at andy.suzuki.music@gmail.com so I can add you to email list. That way, I can let you know when I am playing a show near you!

Andy Suzuki Drops 300 Pianos on iTunes
The homie Andy Suzuki's album 300 Pianos just dropped on iTunes and I strongly suggest that you grab it immediately. Dude is humble, creative and extremely talented. It's a dope project from beginning to end. Hit up iTunes to purchase it and you can also check out some of his tracks at www.myspace.com/andysuzukimusic.

“Do me a favor and ask questions later…”
Andy Suzuki’s 300 Pianos is a project that I’m very excited about hitting the streets!
I met Andy through his percussionist, Kozza, early last year while Andy was pushing his live album at the time. I was impressed with that project and the grassroots way he was getting it out – you know, that viral movement. He’d email the link and asked that you forward it. I surely did that. At the time I was the publisher and editor of a newspaper and asked our entertainment editor do a piece on Andy.
She referred to his sound as “acoustic soul”. I tend to agree. He brings something very different and very real to his music.
He said during that interview, “I am blessed to be able to be doing what I love.” You can definitely hear it in his music. The dude is funny as hell too, as I learned when I ran into him in DC (he’s originally from the area but has been in Rhode Island attending Brown). He was in town doing a show and I ran into him and Kozza at Union Station. It was perhaps one of the funniest 45 minutes. What a humble, extremely talented and down to earth guy.
I know 300 Pianos will not disappoint.
We’ll do a more in-depth piece when the album is available on iTunes and on CD for purchase but I felt the need to put him on your radar now. I had to make sure you were ready.
Seriously check out some of his tracks previewed at www.myspace.com/andysuzukimusic and you'll be excited too.
