What I'm Watching: Aloe Blacc "I Need A Dollar" x "Billie Jean" (Special MADE Performance)

MOMENTS WITH ALOE BLACC, MIKI AND JAYBO: "I NEED A DOLLAR" PART 5/6 from MADE Blog on Vimeo.

I'm a sucker for live instrumentation. And what Aloe Blacc does here  just accompanied by the string section is incredible. Damn. And he's holding a glass a water (or vodka - allegedly, of course) the whole time? Dope. Hit play and enjoy. Chea!

What I'm Watching (3/15/11): Carlitta Durand, Oddisee, Misen Lync and Aloe Blacc

Over the last few days a gang of fresh videos from the likes of Carlitta Durand, Oddisee, Misen Lync and Aloe Blacc have hit my inbox and the Internets!

Carlitta's video comes from her dope project Nostalgic Nights released on Christmas Eve last year. If you haven't listen to that project yet, you're missing out so catch up. Ha! Oddisee also offers up a fresh video featuring Toine (of DTMD) for his "Different Now" track, featured on Mello Music Group's Helpless Dreamer compilation. As Oddisee wrote, "we shot this video just before Thanksgiving back in November, weird for me to see it as I still have braids in it. lol The video was shot in Washington, DC by Zack Schamberg." It's definitely a dope video filmed in one of my favorite places, DC.

The Misen Lync track is also an older track off of the crew's Both Sides of the Mirror project. The cut features Dame Ellzey and is definitely one of my favorite joints from the MKE group. Aloe Blacc offers up some simple visuals for "Loving You Is Killing Me." It's the simplicity of the video and the fresh dance moves that make the video so dope.

Check the videos after the jump. Enjoy!

Listen To This: @AloeBlacc

So I log onto Facebook one day and I see this guy's name in my news stream. There were a few comments under the status update so I figured I'd look into him and see what kind of music he did. When I found his Myspace Music page, I thought dude was awesome. The song I loved in particular was "I'm Beautiful" because of its message. He is a singer/songwriter/producer and was formerly the emcee in the rap group Emanon. His newest song is called "I Need A Dollar" and serves as the intro for the HBO show How To Make It In America. Enjoy the music.

Keep up with what Aloe Blacc is doing at www.aloeblacc.com and Myspace Music
