BLAX Live.
We had been posting music from the New York by way of Milwaukee emcee BLAX (going by Adebisi at the time) before we linked up last year to present his project The Blaxploitation. Since then, we've put out three dope projects (including The Blaxploitation II and BLAX x LIFE x FILES) and formed a great working relationship. Today to mark one year since that partnership, BLAX releases some cool live performance video from his show at Mad Planet in Milwaukee last year. Also, if you haven't checked the new single Internet Sex, do that. And be on the look out for the director's cut video April 30th, filmed and edited by Darren Cole. In the meantime, enjoy the music. Chea!

NEW RELEASE: TMB x RTD Presents BLAX "BLAX x LIFE x FILES"
The Milwaukee bred emcee who has called New York home for the last year, ended 2011 strong as Adebisi and started 2012 refocused as BLAX. He had always been living what he called the BLAX Life, and thought the name change was in order. With just over a month into the new year, BLAX returns with a new project featuring music with production from Milwaukee's Reason and the Lazy Genius crew out of Detroit. With a handful of guest features including Mikkey Halsted, Que Billah, Playboy Tre and others, BLAX x LIFE x FILES is a solid 11 track project. Stream for free and if you dig it, support by purchasing it for $5. Chea!

BLAX Gears Up For 2012
Photo by Dirty Souf Yankee |
The Brooklyn-resident is fresh off a highly-visible and accomplished year. In addition to
releasing two fan-favorite mixtapes – The Blaxploitation Part I & II – BLAX, formerly referred
to as Adebisi, received a complimentary review from former music executive and tastemaker Jeff
Sledge on the respected allindstrom.com.
Adding to his momentum, BLAX was selected by allhiphop.com as one of the “Top 25 Unsigned
Artists of 2011”.
“Being recognized by industry mainstays Jeff Sledge and allhiphop.com means that all the work
I’ve put into my career is paying off,” stated BLAX. “People are starting to take notice and it’s
truly humbling.”
Describing his music as adult-contemporary hip hop, BLAX brings a fresh perspective to the
industry. Armed with a smooth delivery and soulful lyrics, BLAX takes listeners on a feel-good,
socially stimulating ride through his life experiences, hopes and dreams.
BLAX returns to the stage this week, Thursday, January 5th, for his first performance of 2012 at
Greenwich Village favorite, Grisly Pear (107 MacDougal). For more information on the show,

The new project is a 15 track LP featuring guest appearances from Wes Restless, Najee, Emcee Jermaine, and a few others. The project also contains solid production from Noc Beats, Dylan Thomas, Reason and No Gimmicks. Adebisi continues to lay it all on the line in the biographical project, that's solid from beginning to end. Hit play and enjoy. Chea!

Adebisi "What A Blessing"
What a blessing indeed. The homie Adebisi links up with The Mad Bloggers again on his new project, The Blaxploitation Part II, the follow up to The Blaxploitation. On his new project, Adebisi continues to rap about what he knows. He spits with a biographical flow, providing insight into his life as a rapper, father and more. What A Blessing produced by DJ Noc, the first single off the new project due out in September, premiered over at DJBooth.net yesterday. Today, it hits the rest of the net. It's a solid track. Enjoy. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Adebisi "Blaxlife"
Collared shirt and an expensive restaurant? Oh, Adebisi think he's fancy huh? Ha! Just ahead of his new project The Blaxploitaton Part II, dropping via TMB soon the Milwaukee raised and NYC based emcee drops off the video for "Blaxlife" from his previous project The Blaxploitation. Under the direction of Brooklyn T, Adebisi serves up a smooth video for the Matt Cody produced cut. I definitely dig it. Enjoy. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Adebisi "Closer"
A blue collar-working-dad. The homie Adebisi and I have a lot in common. And I guess at this stage in our lives, we're both a little closer to our dreams. Adebisi returns with another track off of his TMB presented Blaxploitation mixtape. "Closer" is one of my favorite cuts, with its very self-reflective tone. Shot by BeardsxFreckles, enjoy another guerrilla-style-shot video from the NYC by way of Milwaukee emcee. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Adebisi "Rhythmatic"
Just when you think he's done, he delivers more. Adebisi returns with another video from his TMB presented Blaxploitation Mixtape. According to Adebisi he has a few more videos lined up before he's ready to "retire" the project and drop Part II of Blaxploitation. So, in the meantime enjoy the Damon S. Joy directed video. Shouts to Signif with the cameo too. I see you. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Adebisi "F-ck The Dollar"
The homie Adebisi is like family. I've been handling a bit of his digital game and TMB just co-sponsored his latest mixtape The Blaxploitation, which you should DEFINITELY have in your life right now. Ha!
Anyway, Adebisi linked up with SigNif (yes, the NYC by way of Milwaukee emcee) and shot a video last week with Sig getting her John Singleton on by directing, shooting and editing the visuals for "Fuck the Dollar." Put together in just 24 hours, the video is for one of my favorite tracks on The Blaxploitation. The homie is definitely very talented. Look out for more music coming soon. In the meantime, enjoy. Chea!
Adebisi has also been shooting a series of video blogs. You can check those out at www.youtube.com/theblaxlifetv

BLAX and The Mad Bloggers Presents: Adebisi "Blaxploitation"
The full project is finally here. I know somewhere Adebisi is relieved to finally have this project out, considering it's been in the works for sometime now.
I've told this story a few times about how I stumbled into Adebisi's music. I don't recall the exact moment, because it was either his 80's Babies mixtape or being the front man of Fresh Cut Collective, but either way I do remember the first reaction being, "dude is dope."
A few months back Adebisi reached out to us about getting behind his latest mixtape, Blaxploitation. I didn't hesitate to agree. This project is very much a mixtape in it's traditional sense of borrowed beats, with a few originals. It's a quality offering from the Wisconsin native who is now living in NYC. It's a great re-introduction as Adebisi preps for a full length album (which is mostly done) and another project after that. I'm not sure when he's gonna sleep. Ha!
Anyway, check out and enjoy the BLAX and TMB presented Blaxploitation. Chea!

Adebisi "F-ck The Dollar" (off the Blaxploitation Mixtape)
Adebisi returns with another track off of his upcoming Blaxploitation Mixtape presented by TMB and BLAX. This is one of my favorite cuts on the mixtape. Blaxploitation features some borrowed beats and a few original cuts. Look out for the project coming soon. In the meantime, enjoy "F-ck The Dollar." Chea!

Check It ... Adebisi "Bloody Murder" (off the Blaxploitation Mixtape)
I always forget when I first heard Adebisi rhyme. It was either his 80's Babies mixtape or his work as the front man of Fresh Cut Collective. While I can't pin down the exact time or project, what I do remember is his distinct voice and flow. And then there's the lyrical word play from the Wisconsin native who is now living in NYC. I've been a fan of Adebisi's sound ever since.
When Adebisi approached me a few months back about getting behind his Blaxploitation mixtape I didn't hesitate because I know the quality of Adebisi's work. So, with that said, check out the first joint off of BLAX and TMB presented Blaxploitation. "Bloody Murder", produced by DJ Charlie Hustle, is a dope track that shows you the type of energy (and quality) that's on the Blaxploitation mixtape. Look out for Blaxploitation coming soon. In the meantime, enjoy "Bloody Murder." Chea!
