Faze One - "Remember Me" feat. R|A
Let Faze One and R|A take you on a quick trip through a few of the struggles they faced.
WordIsBondMusic artist Faze One teams up with label mate R|A for this gritty record for the streets, “Remember Me”. The significance in this record is bigger than the raw lyrics; this song embodies the all too common struggle of urban America, as well as the hunger to get out of living in the hell, that is the projects.
“This song isn't just for my hood, this song is for the hoods all over America” – Faze One

What I'm Watching: Mic Handz - "Don't Get Stomped" feat. Fame
This sht got me amped the hell up. Damn. Mic Handz and Lil' Fame straight beasting on this track produced by Aaron “Freedom” Lyles.
With the city on his back and the crowd chanting his name, a hero must rise to the occasion. But when it's time to put your guns up, Brooklyn spitter Mic Handz understands that sometimes fists are the best means of communication. A rowdy club anthem that plays out like the real life version of Def Jam: Fight for NY, "Don't Get Stomped" is the no holds barred smack down that we desperately need, especially in a time of new age R&B and soft rappers. As Handz plays the undisputed champion and Fame drops rhymes that pick up from where the legendary Rakim left off, we're treated to shots of some of BK's finest doing their thing in an undisclosed, underground location. You may wanna hit the rewind on this one a couple times and see if you can find all the cameos. "Don't Get Stomped" will be released on the upcoming Killin' the Game compilation from T.H.E.M Records. Somebody tell Apollo Creed to ring the bell and get this party started.

Army Of The Pharoahs - "In Death Reborn"
Just copped this today at the store. You can check out the entire dopeness of this album right here. Quality emcees, quality production, quality Hip-Hop. Can't complain.
After A 4-Year Hiatus Army Of The Pharaohs Returns With New LP “In Death Reborn”
Initiated in 1998 by Jedi Mind Tricks front-man Vinnie Paz as homage to the incredible rap crews of the 80’s and early 90’s, the Army of the Pharaohs has, from its outset, been an ever-evolving collective of celebrated emcees from the indie hip-hop scene. Founding members Vinnie Paz and Esoteric were featured on the crew’s original 12-inch single, “Five Perfect Exertions,” in 1998 and remain with the crew today. With the release of their debut studio album, The Torture Papers in 2006, the Pharaoh clique expanded to include accomplished solo emcees Apathy, Celph Titled, King Syze, Reef the Lost Cauze, and the Philly hip-hop duo and frequent Jedi Mind Tricks collaborators Outerspace.
In its nearly two decades, AOTP has released three studio albums alongside countless solo albums and side projects from its lineup of emcees that have been some of the most critically-acclaimed and best-selling indie hip hop records of the past 20-years. With the release of their newest effort, In Death Reborn, the Army returns after a four-year hiatus to release its fourth group album featuring the lead single/video for “God Particle” featuring Vinnie Paz, Planetary, Esoteric, Apathy & Celph Titled and produced by Stu Bangas. The album also features appearances by Blacastan, Zilla, Block McCloud, Demoz, Doap Nixon & King Magnetic.

Download: MeccaGodZilla - "ERROARS 2.2: Metal Sakura"
In his bio, it states that musically, MeccaGodZilla’s sound is like mixing Talib’s rhyme influence with RZA’s beat making tips and the Dalai Lama’s tips on being a better human being. After hearing this instrumental album, I couldn't agree more.
In a break from the norm here at The Mad Bloggers, we bring you a project with a global feel to it. As soon as I hit play, I pretty much just zoned out on whatever it was I was doing at the time. Some tracks on "ERROARS 2.2: Metal Sakura" had that movie vibe to it while others had an obvious Hip-Hop element that inspired me to head nod.
According to Mecca, he started off as a sample producer, but ended up with only 3 tracks on this project that were sampled. Either way, I enjoyed what he created here.
Some of my favorite stand outs on this are "Chariots", "Raye 6.4", "Amnesia", and the only track that features artists, "Laundromat Combat feat Last Words and Buhrnum Wood".
Overall, it's a nice change of pace so peep it and let us know what y'all think.
In typical Kaiju fashion, MeccaGodZilla returns with sonic alchemy after a 3 year hiatus to produce the new instrumental album titled “ERROARS 2.2: Metal Sakura.” Possibly part of the epic rebirth of Long Island’s raw Hip-Hop/Rap sound, this new seventeen-track LP emanates a global fusion of cultural elements and inspiration.
Influenced by a myriad of experiences while of living in Tokyo, NYC and Long Island, MeccaGodZilla shares a wide palette of musical expression peaking into the roots of Rap, R&B, Experimental, Dancehall and House music.
After the first listen international recording artist and 3X VIMA Award winner Masia One states musically:
“I see a wilting cherry blossom, and when its dipped in metal instead of incinerating it becomes stronger and more beautiful… the metal doesn’t cause them (the blossoms) to fall hard, they are still organic and beautifully graceful, but slowly forming metallic shells…”
Driven by the goal to keep this album 100% Strong Island vibes, MeccaGodZilla foraged locally recruiting Freeport’s very own Last Words and Buhrnum Wood, two MC’s known for extraordinary freestyle ability, to engage in a lyrical joust on the closing feature song “Laundromat Combat.”
“It’s pretty ill to think about the following idea. Long Island, NY has arguably some of the best, most skilled and diverse artists in rap history, notably Rakim, De La Soul, Leaders Of the New School, Prince Paul, Public Enemy, EPMD, Keith Murray, KMD, Roc Marciano and lots more. I aspire to rep for the place I was raised and provide more of that Long Island Sound to the world.”

Pharoahe Monch - "Rapid Eye Movement" featuring Black Thought and DJ Revolution (prod. by Marco Polo)
More dope music by some lyrical veterans in the game along with a DJ and a producer with an amazing track record. This joint is on repeat! Check it.
Pharoahe Monch’s Forthcoming PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) LP Will Be Released On 4-15-2014
With his highly-anticipated fourth solo-LP, “PTSD” (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), Pharoahe Monch re-emerges with a new concept project which finds the ground-breaking emcee tackling PTSD; a severe anxiety disorder that can develop after exposure to any event that results in psychological trauma. Throughout the duration of the LP, Monch narrates as an independent artist weary from the war against the industry machine and through the struggle of the black male experience in America.
Pharoahe Monch has been at the forefront of lyrical innovation for two-decades now. Not only is he one of Hip-Hop’s preeminent lyricists, crafting intricate rhyme schemes and intelligent raps, but he is also an incisive political and social commentator, using Hip-Hop as a platform for political engagement.
Rapid Eye Movement featuring Black Thought of the Roots Crew, and produced by long time collaborator Marco Polo is the next look from the album and is a lyrical barrage worthy of these two titans.
Pharoahe Monch's "P.T.S.D." (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) will feature guest appearances from Black Thought, Talib Kweli, Denaun Porter, The Stepkids, Vernon Reid and production from Lee Stone, Marco Polo, Jesse West & Quelle Chris.
