What I'm Watching: Lyriciss "The Agenda"
The DMV homie Lyriciss delivers up a solid video for The Agenda, directed by Chop N Shoot Films and filmed in DC at the Capitol. Having spent a lot of time around the Capitol building, I wonder how many times this shoot was interrupted by the overzealous Capitol Police. Those dudes are rough and tough. Ha! Anyhoo, you can find this Grussle produced cut on his The Balance EP: Money. Enjoy the visuals. Chea!

Lafayette Stokely "Stranger (SoulMix)"
I've been chopping it up with the homies of The Soulstice over the last few days. You might recall we presented their single FYI featuring SigNif with 100 Akres. After the success of their MF Wonders project they have been steadily putting out tracks through their Soul Mix series. In their latest joint, group member Lafayette Stokely adds his spin to Jhene Aiko’s Stranger. I dig it. Enjoy. Chea!

What I'm Watching: The Rising Sun Quest - "I'll Rhyme Now"
New video by the homie Rising Sun Quest teaming up Elasticbrand on this "Audiowear" project. Visuals are simple, clean, to the point, which all equaled dope in this equation. Peep it.
The third music video from a multidisciplinary creative project called "Audiowear", that started with 3D printing and ceramic slip casting musical jewelry at the sundaymorning@ekwc artist residency in the Netherlands. It then evolved into a full length record with 14 original songs that we pressed to vinyl with the help of a Kickstarter campaign. The record was celebrated with a concert at the Museum of Arts & Design in New York City on 9.22.11 where 10 of the artists performed their songs live. the Museum of Arts & Design [MAD] also acquired the Audiowear pieces for their permanent collection and will show them in two exhibitions in 2012. The work was also shown at exhibitions in Korea, England and New York.

What I'm Watching: Pusha T "Exodus 23:1"
"Ask Steve Jobs, wealth don't buy health ..."
Shit is real when diss tracks get videos. Well, except that MC Hammer Jay-Z record. Wasn't anything real about that garbage. Ha! But anyway, Pusha T drops off the visuals for the alleged Lil Wayne/Drake/YMCMB et al diss record. This further distances Pusha T from that Lil Wayne Goulish trash. I see Pusha T is hitting threes in the fourth quarter when he's already up by 25 with 18 seconds left. Sheesh.

Starchild "Cold Turkey Leftovers"
After supporting TMB for a minute, making his first appearance on the site is Starchild with some pretty solid beats. Spread love, it's the Brooklyn way ...
The end of an era, 15 beats and skits from the last 2 years - my cold turkey leftovers. The album is free if you want it but if you do pay for it, HALF of the money you spend will go to Cancer Research. A worthy charity and one that means a lot to me.
Thanks to everyone who has supported over the past couple of years. If you want to use these beats for anything, please email me at luke@starcrazy.org. If you choose to use them without letting me know or giving me credit, I can't REALLY stop you but you'll be a bit of a douche and I'll probably find out eventually.

What I'm Listening To: @AntoineDunn - "Miss My Love"
I have a million and five Pandora channels and today I decided to listen to the Neo-Soul station named after Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite. After hearing several of my favorite songs, this soulful and sultry tune playing from an artist I'd never heard of grabbed my attention. His name... Antoine Dunn.
As I often tend to do, I like to share what I'm listening to on Facebook and Twitter. Sometimes it can drum simple conversation or an in depth discussion about how amazing an artist is. This was no different when I decided to press the 'share' button and tweet out Pandora's great song choice. Lo and behold, Antoine mentions me on Twitter to say thank you for tweeting the song out.
Then, I was able to chop it up with him on Facebook discussing some of his performance dates and how he got started in the music industry. Born and raised in Cleveland, Dunn first began his music career as a songwriter, then became a church choir director and finally shifted his focus to singing. And trust me when I say, that was a great shift of focus.
"Miss My Love" is a classic R&B jawn with a sprinkle of gospel spice. His voice melts effortlessly over the second release from his upcoming debut project Truth of the Matter. If you're wondering where the real music is, it's right here. Check out Antoine Dunn's song below and make sure you keep up with his musical journey on Twitter. Enjoy.

What I'm Watching: @RebelDiaz - "Soy Rebelde"
Rebel Diaz comes through speaking about the hardships and odds that are stacked against us nowadays. From NATO to the 1% to the law enforcement and so on, Rebel Diaz touches on those subjects with a presence that is difficult to ignore. Real strong message in this joint, peep it.
In the midst of a midwest tour with a heavy presence in Chicago's May Day and NATO protest actions, Rebel Diaz releases the street single "Soy Rebelde" off their long anticipated debut album Radical Dilemma.
True to the group's bilingual form, the song samples a late 60s spanish pop ballad, "Soy Rebelde, porque el mundo me hecho asi.." (I'm a Rebel, because the world has made me this way..."). Produced by G1 of Rebel Diaz. Performed by G1 and RodStarz of Rebel Diaz.

Interview: Willie Waze (Early Certainty 1.7)
From the cover design by Nick Danny Fulcher to the actual music on Early Certainty 1.7, Willie Waze continues his talented and musically entertaining journey with this solid video game influenced Hip-Hop release. When I first heard of the Virginia native, it was off his previous mixtape Early Certainty he dropped last year. This new mixtape is pretty much a great appetizer to hold you off until he releases version 2. It's like he started right where he left off on this new 13 track venture giving his listeners an insight into part of his life and delivers his messages throughout the mixtape with morally inspiring flows that not many unsigned artists folks choose to spit. I dig an emcee that can aspire to be successful while maintaining both feet on the ground. He just lets the music speak for itself with honesty and creativity as he does on Early Certainty 1.7. I reached out to Willie Waze and posed a few questions about his project to get an inside feel into his outlook about it. Peep it and don't forget to grab the mixtape!!!

I think she's dope. She's pushing heavy via her youtube page with a few different series. I dig it. You should check out what she has to offer and in the meantime, enjoy the Curtis Mayfield cover. Chea.

ScholarMan "The Lasting"
Dope project from ScholarMan on the production side of things. I dig it. So, spread love, it's the Brooklyn way ...
"The Lasting is a collection of beats that I have created over the past year or so. Some of these beats actually had lyrics recorded to them but were never released. I have included a range of sounds on this project – everything from boom-bap hip-hop to alternative melodies. The inspiration and fuel behind the title is simply achieving a level of respect and notoriety that is lasting instead of gaining temporary, trivial attention. In a nutshell, The Lasting creates the legacy."

Andy Suzuki & The Method "Lucy" (Live at Quad Studios)
A few days ago the homies Andy Suzuki & The Method dropped off the cool visuals for Take Care Of Me from their The Ghost Stories EP. But these guys are always working on new music. Recently Andy stepped into Quad Studios to record a live acoustic version of Lucy from their upcoming project. Shouts to Chris O'Konski behind the lens. I'm a big fan of Andy and the crew, and I'm looking forward to more of their new stuff. In the meantime, enjoy this cool preview. Chea!

Slaughterhouse w/ guests Duece Bug and more (Pics & Vids)
Slaughterhouse came through CT once again but after a longer time in the industry, folks must have been a lot more hip to who they were because the place was packed as hell. Wall to wall fans lined up to see these four lyrical monsters do what they're known to do on the mic. Their personalities on Twitter and their video blogs, which is up to number 6 now, add a lot to who these guys are which in turn brings more fans to the show. But let's not forget, the homies Duece Bug, Chuck Nickels, and White Cheddar helped get the night started. With their energetic stage presence, these cats spit lyrics after lyrics while using practically every inch of the stage to liven up the crowd. Overall, it was a dope ass night. You could feel the intensity in the air and that Hip-Hop was definitely in the building. If you missed it or want to relive it, check these photos and videos out. Shoutout to my friend E for helping me shoot some of the show. Also, peep our Facebook page for even more photos. (Link on the right.)

What I'm Watching: Daley - "Alone Together" ft. Marsha Ambrosius
I know I'm 3 months late on this and I apologize but damn, this joint is smooth as hell. I'm super brand new to Daley and very familiar of Marsha and all I can say is they make an incredible pair on this track. Definitely more of my kind of R&B here. Apparently, he only has this one video out but I'm keeping an ear and eye out for this cat. Extremely dope.
