We linked up with Wisconsin producer Mark V again on a new project. While most of this site is dedicated to Hip-Hop, I have a fond appreciation for soul music. Actually, I love soul music. I guess that makes sense considering Hip-Hop is fused with soulful undertones by way of rhyme and often times production.
Donny Hathaway was one of those artist that defined soul and is among my favorites. A few months ago we linked up with NYC based producer Jinesis for Otisis, a beat tape of Otis Redding samples. Along the same lines, we're working with Mark V on a beat tape with Hathaway samples. This is the title track from the new project, A Beat For You [The Donny Hathaway Beat Tape].
