The first time I heard her was on the track "Trouble," featuring two other dynamite female emcees out of the DMV, Emperess and RAtheMC. I started checking for more music from her and found some of her older spoken word stuff and some of her raw and edgy Hip-Hop stuff. A few months back she responded to a request for a female emcee to rhyme over the "Devil In A New Dress" instrumental and delivered the fresh "feMC DIARY (Devil In A New Dress).”
Just recently she released a pretty fresh project, "Winter Sadness: PoetReMixtape Volume IV".

ThroatChop: Okay, first question. Your celebrity crush at age 10, 15 and now?
The Real Jay Mills: Age 10 … hmm ... in 95 I had a HUGE crush on Mr. Cheeks from the Lost Boyz for some strange reason. At age 15 I was ALL about M-E-T-H-O-D MAN. Now ... hmmm ... Common ... he can get it, Serena bet’ not mess that up.
TC: What TV character would you be and why?
JM: I would be Jessica Rabbit. She was very sexy but also down to earth and quite gangsta when she needed to be. And she had a weakness for a nice guy that can make her laugh (laughs).
TC: Which three songs would be on the soundtrack of your life and why?
JM: “Adore” by Prince. I love that song with all my heart, it describes the level of my loyalty for those I love ... until the end of time. “Déjà vu” by Teena Marie. I feel motivated by the thought that I asked to come here, and if I get it right I won't be back here again. “GreatDayinTheMornin” by D'Angelo. This song makes me want to get up and handle business while keeping me mellow and focused.
TC: What moment in your life would you like to relive and why?
JM: I'd like to relive the day I met Barack Obama before he was President. I would have said a LOT more to him to find out more about him as a person. I would have brought some chicken wings and mambo sauce to put him on to the city and given him a BackYard Band CD (Skillet).
TC: You hop in a cab and Jesus is the driver. Where do you ask him to take you and what is the conversation about?
JM: I'd ask him to take me to the highest intention of myself, and we'd talk about music. I'd like to know how to be a better instrument.
