MeLo-X, Jamie XX and Adele singing about her ex, there's enough X's on this track to get it banned in theatres haha. Either way, MeLo had to jump on this remix and tell his side of the story on his relationships ups and downs. MeLo had this joint for a minute but decided to keep it locked in the vault. Now is the time to release this gem in support of Adele's new album "21". Stay tuned for more overseas love from Malcolm MeLo Mustafa X
e.d.g.e. is about to lock in and deliver a LOT of music over the next few weeks. While working on his new project, All Flow Everything, e.d.g.e. plans to release at least three tracks per week. Ambitious but this dude has rhymes for days. So, check out "Hardly A Hero", a previously unreleased track which was self produced by e.d.g.e. Enjoy.
Haha! Definitely a different style from the Milwaukee homie Dana Coppafeel but I'm fucking with this track off the upcoming LIL' YUNG MixTape (no connection to Yung Lil Bullshit, yet!) hosted by DJ DwooD of No Request Sound System. Check it out. Chea!
The Philly crew Writtenhouse are about to release their new album, While You Were Sleeping, February 15th. But in the meantime, they are dropping off two dope tracks from the project. Check it out and enjoy "XL" and "Sticky." Chea!
I'd post this project on the strength of the album cover alone. Ha! But seriously, this Inner Loop Records x Producers I Know Present: Soulful! Mumbo Sauce & Drumbreaks is a clear winner and dope project. Hit play and enjoy because Soulful! delivers on the production, with a few pretty fresh features. Enjoy.
I really dig Elle Maxwell's personality. Oh and I dig her music too. A combination of the two is what makes her a dope artist to me. I mean, she's doing a video chilling, twisting her hair and could care less about an edit. Ha! She wants you to know who she is, as a person as well as a musician.
I just did a feature on Elle over at RefinedHype.com. Check that out and check out this diary-esque video featuring a new track from Elle's upcoming EP. Enjoy. Chea!
Check out new music from Dremur off his upcoming One Step Away Miles To Go project, due to drop in March. Take this audio journey along with me as I show you no matter what people try to do, no matter what people try to say, no matter how hard they try 'I'm gone get it.'" Enjoy the cut and look out for more music from Dremur coming soon.

I dig this project from the Philly by way of Flatbush emcee. It's been sitting in my inbox for a few days but once I finally got the opportunity to hit play and I wasn't disappointed. Shouts to Khal over at RockTheDub.com for the link. Enjoy.
Check out my latest column of Return of The Real over at RefinedHype.com featuring DMV's own Elle Maxwell. We talked about the DMV Hip-Hop scene, her upcoming projects and her name change. Check it out.
Each week RoQ'y takes on the tough issues with his podium series. This week is no different, as he addresses the State Of The Union and more. Check it.
I've told this story a few times. I was listening to Scienze's The Phone Tap(e) project and this track came on called "From L.A." And that's the first time I heard L.A. rhyme.
From the beginning I thought she was dope. I was amazed that she had just started rhyming and was prepping her debut, The Presentation. This was back in July. There has been some time between my initial discovery of L.A.'s sound and the release of this project. And in the in between there have been a few additional tracks released, a few videos and my first time seeing her perform live. I knew this project was going to be dope.
Back in early September we talked about me doing her artwork. As you can tell, this project has a theme. A Kanye theme if you didn't notice. And everything connected with this project was very intentional. So, from the artwork, to the beat selection (most of Ye's old, new and rarely heard) to the mini movie video to go along with the release, it's all intertwined.
I definitely dig the vision.
I personally enjoyed The Presentation. But I'll warn you, that if you don't listen to LA's lyrics you'll be lost in the sauce. Listen. The girl has bars. I hope you enjoy. Chea!
It's Saturday, so you know what that means.....The Mad Video Selection! Of course we have another batch of must see hip-hop videos for your viewing pleasure. This week we have the likes of Dana Coppafeel, Lola Maxwell, Reks, Miles Jones, Stalley and Rashad. Each one has put in work and they do not disappoint. Remember, if you would like to have your video considered for the selection email readbeanpie@gmail.com. Sit back and enjoy!
I've always liked JC Poppe. And have long respected his honestly through his music. I was first introduced to Poppe when he released Sleep Therapy, an album that comes literally from a sleeping disorder. Music was his outlet to keep mind or body occupied. It was “Mixtape Epidemic” off of that project which immediately caught my attention.
We've been cool ever since.
Back when I first interviewed Poppe he described his sound as a bit alternative Hip-Hop with major influences from Public Enemy and Rage Against The Machine. To boil it down, his sound is aggressive.
And with his two new projects, he continues to build using that aggressive sound.
Tea Party and Shadowland provide two parts of the talented Wisconsin native. Tea Party, in a sense is your traditional Hip-Hop project. And Shadowlands is a deeper look into the personal side of Poppe, which includes some highs and lows from the last few years of his life. Of the two, Shadwolands is the more heartfelt project because of it's deep connection to Poppe personally.
That's not to say that the content on Tea Party isn't heartfelt. It's just a different personal connection.
I don't think Shadowlands could survive without the other. They compliment each other too well. You get this hard-hitting Hip-Hop side of Poppe in Tea Party and through Shadowlands you get some raw material that comes from a deeper place. Once you hit play, you'll get the picture.
Recently, I reached out to Poppe for an interview. Check out the Q&A after the jump.
Many of you know the story behind this DJ Premier beat. A few days ago it hit the net as a track that Kanye turned down because it was intended for the original concept of his last album. As soon as I heard it, I knew the Canadian emcee e.d.g.e. was going to attack it. DJ Premier is e.d.g.e.'s favorite producer. So, he took a timeout from working on his upcoming mixtape turned album, All Flow Everything, to drop this joint. It was less than a 24 hour turnaround. Check it out and as e.d.g.e. said, "your loss Mr. West." Ha! Enjoy.
Redman drops his latest visuals with a track off his album "Reggie". This joint features Kool Moe Dee and is filled with the feel of the 80's. Hip-Hop, baby. Check it out.
I'm not sure who put me on to Theo Martins but the dude is dope. Yesterday he released this fresh track about his recent trip to South Africa. The $port produced jawn is so soulful. Check it and enjoy.
Ya'll already know I'm a Shad fan. I caught this recent interview with JUICE Magazin. Shad is definitely one of my favorite emcees. Enjoy the interview. Chea!
I know I keep saying this about Chuuwee but I'm pretty sure the Sacramento emcee doesn't sleep. Project after project, track after track. Chuuwee keeps delivering dope music over and over again. His latest cut comes from his upcoming Look At Me Now project dropping Sunday night/Monday morning, compiled of a bunch of unreleased and older tracks. That should be cool. In the meantime, enjoy "Unfresh Prince." Chea!
It's been a while since I've given you some music from the Milwaukee homie Dana Coppafeel. This new joint presented by The COVERT Empire, is dope. Shouts to the folks over at Uni-Fi Records for the link. Enjoy.
Yes, Friday's Five Random Questions is back. I know you missed it. Ha!
And next up is The Real Jay Mills.
The first time I heard her was on the track "Trouble," featuring two other dynamite female emcees out of the DMV, Emperess and RAtheMC. I started checking for more music from her and found some of her older spoken word stuff and some of her raw and edgy Hip-Hop stuff. A few months back she responded to a request for a female emcee to rhyme over the "Devil In A New Dress" instrumental and delivered the fresh "feMC DIARY (Devil In A New Dress).”
Just recently she released a pretty fresh project, "Winter Sadness: PoetReMixtape Volume IV".
The Real Jay Mills is dope.
Anyway, this week she decided to take the challenge. Check out how she answered five random questions after the jump.

Homebase NYC Presents: The Clubhouse featuring Homeboy Sandman "Live at the Clubhouse Vol. 1" from the Clubhouse's forthcoming EP entitled "Fully Equipped"
I know, this is a project I've talked about for some time now. Well, it's finally here.
Otis Redding and Anthony Hamilton are two of my favorites. A few months back after putting together my last compilation Soulful Summer, I decided that I needed to put together an Otis and Anthony project. This is mostly because I struggled with deciding on just a few of their tracks to include on Soulful Summer.
Now, we are here - Otis Hamilton. There are some amazing tracks from both of these guys, including some of my favorites like "(Sittin' On The) Dock of The Bay" and "Mamma Knew Love" among others. Those tracks aren't on this compilation. I know, crazy huh?
With this project I wanted to go a different route. A love story from the break up to finding love again. I hope you enjoy Otis Hamilton just as much as I enjoyed making it.
Press play and zone out as OC Supreme would say. Enjoy.
01. You Left The Water Running - Otis Redding
02. Where Did It Go Wrong - Anthony Hamilton
03. Think About It - Otis Redding
04. Charlene - Anthony Hamilton
05. I'm A Mess - Anthony Hamilton
06. I've Got Dreams to Remember - Otis Redding
07. You Don't Miss Your Water - Otis Redding
08. Her Heart - Anthony Hamilton
09. Try A Little Tenderness - Otis Redding
10. Since I Seen't You - Anthony Hamilton
11. The Point of It All - Anthony Hamilton
12. Fallin In Love Again - Anthony Hamilton
13. Cigarettes and Coffee - Otis Redding
14. That's How Strong My Love Is - Otis Redding
15. These Arms of Mine - Otis Redding
16. The Day We Met - Anthony Hamilton
17. Do You Feel Me - Anthony Hamilton
18. For Your Precious Love - Otis Redding
Adele has such a powerful voice. Just yesterday I was talking about the strength in her sound. I dig what Adele does. Anyway, I caught this track earlier today. Check out the cover of British Pop star Cheryl Cole's "Promise This." Damn, this girl can sing. 21. Chea!
Via idolator.com
As Adele’s sophomore album 21 continues to obliterate the competition in the UK, the “Rolling In The Deep” songstress is firmly marching down the promo trail to ensure a victorious chart outcome in her home country once the end of the week rolls around. Today she hit up BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, where, among other tunes, she performed a somber cover of fellow Brit pop star Cheryl Cole’s 2010 hit “Promise This.”
The homie Premonition is back with the second installment of his Sum is Greater series. This go round he features Silent Knight and Final Outlaw, with production from Kon and cuts from DJ M-tri. "Kingship" is a dope track. Hit play and enjoy. Chea!
"With all due respect, Marky Mark you can't touch this beat."
So, if you follow me on twitter, you caught my early morning rant about this Matt Clarke "Good Vibration" track. The rant started with how the email arrived boosting:
1) "His Youtube channel has amassed over 45,000 views."
2) "His Facebook page has over 1,600 fans."
Truth be told, neither number means much to me. I once had a video that got 20,000 youtube hits and a twitter page with over 3300 followers. My youtube page is gone and my twitter page is frozen. See, numbers don't mean shit. Real support does. I would normally delete an email talking numbers of any type. Why? Because just like an email telling me how many other blogs posted your track, I don't care.
Seriously, I don't.
Let me rephrase, I don't give a fuck.
Folks that send these "I love your blog" group emails obviously don't realize I'm not a copy/paste kind of dude that posts what's popular elsewhere. I say that to say, I don't care about where you've been posted, what your numbers look like and how many friends on facebook support you. To me, it's irrelevant when judging your music. Rude? Nah, reality. (Oh, by the way, someone please introduce rappers and so called publicists to BCC. Seriously).
Anyway, Matt's email landed in my inbox. And so I hit play, because every now and again after mass deleting, I'm curious about certain things I'd normally delete. The track, it's alright. You be the judge. I will say that the only thing memorable about it is the Marky Mark sample, which was memorable when it first came out. So, no win there. There were a few twitter references and a Paul Pierce punchline but outside of that, nothing special. But I am curious to hear what Matt can do without a popular and well known track as his foundation. I'm not going to search however.
So, even with all of this, I'm posting this track. I guess that's a win for Matt and his camp, because any publicity is still publicity. Right? So, I guess he got that. But I'm kind of sorry Matt that you had to be collateral damage in my rant, when you were just trying to share your music. Or maybe I'm not. Good luck with your music though.
Yeah, I know I'm an asshole. I've come to terms with it. Ha!
Check out the new track from Theophilus London off his upcoming Lovers Holiday EP. The track is dope. I dig the music from Theophilus London. Enjoy. Chea!
Check the vid for "SLAPP" off Stalley's Lincoln Way Nights (Intelligent Trunk Music), which drops February 9th. Looking forward to it. Spotted over at XXL.
Damn, I dig this track. Tiron kills the verses and HP does his thing on the production. This is the lead track off of ktcHPmstrd, HPthaHyprid's remix project of Tiron's-MSTRD. It's dope. Look for the project to drop late March, early April. In the meantime enjoy "The 1ne." Chea!
I caught this track a few days ago from Prosthetik Intelligentz (producer ‘B doom’ and artist ‘Ezzie B’). The track will be featured on their upcoming mixtape due to drop mid year. It's a pretty cool track. I dig it. Enjoy.
Check out another track off of Providence, Rhode Island's Dirty Hank's Does This Look Normal? project due to drop February 15. Produced by Falside, it's a pretty cool track. Check it out and leave your thoughts down in the comment section.
Check out the latest offering from Tef Poe. Definitely an aggressive track, so the name fits. Ha! I dig it. Check it.
Aggression and rebellion always makes for a good rap track. St.Louis emcee Tef Poe delivers bullet piercing bars on his newest project entitled "War Machine" He really unleashes his inner demon on his track titled "Mel Gibson". Indiana Rome of "In House Productions" plays "Danny Glover" with the assist on the beat.
I always liked the Time Crisis track "Bricks." Time Crisis has this cool spoken word feel type of Hip-Hop coupled with dope beats. I dig it. Check out the video directed by Ian Wexler and brought to you by Fameless Fam. Gotta love a video with a dope concept. Enjoy.
Another fresh (interesting) video and dope track from Copywrite off his Life and Times of Peter Nelson project. Vid directed by Casey Regan. Track produced by Rob Stern. Enjoy. Chea!
The Canadian emcee e.d.g.e. is no stranger to The Mad Bloggers' readers. I've said a few times that it seems like e.d.g.e. doesn't rest because he's always releasing new music for the masses. He's currently working on his new project All Flow Everything, which according to e.d.g.e. will be an album as opposed to a mixtape. Either way, we get more good music from e.d.g.e. with production from the likes of Stewie Vuiton, Shane Eli, Beewirks, Ritchcraft, Mootboxle and So Sleazy, among others. In the meantime, check out "Keep Me Baby." This track is dope. Enjoy and look out for All Flow Everything. Chea!
Get this project. Now. The BIG K.R.I.T. & Grillade The 'Wuz Here' Sessions presented by Yourstru.ly is a fresh live project featuring four tracks from the K.R.I.T. Wuz Here, with the smooth backing of Grillade. The joint is dope. That is all. Get it!
I'm still playing ScienZe's latest project, Hall Pass. "Drama (Geppetto)" is one of my favorite tracks off the project. Check the visuals shot by Manny Fresco of www.FreshHONESTY.com for the track. Enjoy. And go and get that Hall Pass over at www.ScienZeClass.com. Chea!
DJBooth.net and StreetAmmo‘s Exclusive Freestyle Series is back with the 223rd entry from Wrekonize (¡MAYDAY!). Wrekonize goes in over the Plex Luthor produced track. It's dope. Enjoy.
OnCue is peoples. But if you've been checking the blog long enough, you already know that. Check his new video for his CJ Luzi & Phantogram produced "Your Own Supply" track off his "Leftovers" mixtape available at DJBooth.net. Enjoy.
I keep saying I don't have to write much, but this time I mean it. RN said it all:
Rain's voice is able to comfort, excite, chastise, and coax with every coo and hum. She has a unique soulful, jazzy vocal style. Part R&B, part hip-hop, part classic soul, in equal measure. Her music is a unique blend of solid RnB melodies, classic soul harmonies, and clever hip-hop lyrics, offering something fresh, interesting, and compelling to music-lovers everywhere!
I couldn't have said it better myself. Her name is simply Rain. Enjoy.
You know I like to give you guys something a little different every now and then right? Well, I couldn't leave this guy's page without posting something. I heard "My Heart Is Yours" and decided not to pass up the opportunity to share. In my opinion, I feel like you can hear his spirit through his songs. With that being said, I think his spirit is beautiful. The soulful elements conveyed through his songs are amazing. I'd definitely see him in concert. Another one of my favorites is "Supposed To Grow Old." I'm sure he gets a lot of comparisons to Justin Timberlake, vocally, but I can't say that's a bad thing, right? I decided that I couldn't post just one song, so here are them all. Check him out... Enjoy.
I don't even really have a lot of words for this. Dude is dope. The song I'm going to post is a collab with Carlitta Durand (a TMB favorite) and Phonte (another TMB favorite). I came across this song during my usual perusing. There are so many songs on his page that I love. In addition to "Say How You Feel," I'm a big fan of "Be Your Man" and "Greater Than The Sun." What's so impressive about "Greater Than The Sun" is the intro. I generally don't like elongated intros but you can't help but listen to this one because it just oozes talent.
His vibe is so mellow and laid back. Just feel good. Check him out here: Reverb Nation
I spend time on ReverbNation every now and then and most of the time it's a miss instead of a hit. This time I came across an artist I'd like to hear more from. Mica Parris.
I'm impressed with "Wings," particularly because the instrumentals of the track are so nice and the fluidity of her voice fits perfectly on top.
There isn't a lot of information out there for her yet, but I'd keep an eye out. You can find other songs of hers on Reverb Nation, but for now, here is "Wings." Enjoy.

Top $ Raz, Jesse Abraham and Sketch Tha Cataclysm with his full band performed at the spot bringing energy, a live crowd and most importantly good music. It's been a great week of music and this last event capped off the week full of dopeness. I caught this from the homie J. Rhodes out of Texas. Check it.
The Dallas Producer Union was one of the most GROUND BREAKING events in the history of the city. It united the hottest producers and artist in Dallas as well as fans of music. The moderator was rising star producer/artist J.Rhodes. Rhodes is an Ascap Istandard producer showcase winner whos video Hello debuted on MTV's rap fix with Sway, David Banner and 9th Wonder who all gave it rave reviews. Panelist were Cheese Beats (Grammy Nominated producer who has produced for the likes of Cherish, Young-Joc, Jagged edge and Faith based rapper Lecrae to name a few). Picnic (Talented Producer/Artist who has crafted hits for Devin the Dude, Johnny Polygon and Kid Kudi just to name a few) and S1 (producer of Kanye West lead single "Power". He has also produced for the likes of Rhymefest and Talib Kweli. He is currently in the studio with Jay-Z and Beyonce)
The panel was dedicated to Business and Branding. The hour plus Q&A session was very informative and everyone in the room gained great insight and knowledge from professionals who have been there and done that.
After the Q&A session the packed house was entertained from a producer showcase that featured S1, Picnic, J.Rhodes, Cheese Beats and Lonestarr.
The second portion of the Union inspired the masses as the packed house Rocked out to EPIC beats from people in the field that they look up to.
It was a great night. The cherry on top was Dallas Ambassador Erykah Badu being in attendance and asking the most questions to panelist! It was indeed a great night! A win for Hip-Hop music, and a win for the Dallas Fort-Worth area.
The homie HP is a talented producer. A few months back he put out a project called The Purge. Basically a collection of some unused beats. Since then, a lot of those tracks have found a home, including the upcoming collaboration with Boston rapper HW for his #RapLife project. HP hit me up a day ago with another track used from that beat tape. Check out the Killah Trakz joint. It's pretty dope.
A pretty dope collabo... Little story behind this joint the beat was on my first beat project "The Purge" months before I dropped "The Purge" I gave Killah Trakz the beat I didn't think he was gonna ever do anything with it so I put the beat on The Purge. Last week I get a tweet from Killah Trakz like I'm recording to Scrunchface. Oh word... When I heard the finished joint I thought this is the reason I gave the beat to him in the first place. Enjoy. -HP
Finally, the pictures from our fourth Independent's Day Showcase are here. It was such a dope night and I think everyone who was in attendance can all agree. Music was dope, crowd was live, energy was through the roof. Thank you to everyone who came out, everyone who performed and everyone else in between. Now...without further ado, click Read More to check out the pictures from the eventful night.
