*Editor's Note*
I got an email from EMS asking to post this song not knowing I already have. Haha. But...she had some words to say about it. And I can't agree more.
I almost fell out of my seat in the car when I first heard this joint (which just happened to be on the radio). I'm listening to it now and still getting chills. Y'all know I'm big on how a song is structured right? When I heard this masterpiece of a song, I screamed because of how good it was. I clapped when it was over. This is the epitome of perfection in a song. She starts off simple and builds into an epic climax toward the end of the track. Her vocals have never sounded better. The guitars around the 3 minute mark were an incredible addition to the song. The strings were beautiful. Track length was right in the pocket. Her harmonies were just CRAZY. I definitively have to say the song left me on the edge of my seat. Can you just imagine what the recording session would've been like? Or how this song would sound in concert? Exactly.
Listening to the lyrics of this song, while I wholeheartedly believe this will be the next Black Woman's Anthem, if you're paying attention, this describes nearly every person on this planet at some point in their lives.
"There's a hole in my heart. My soul is bleeding. I need to free the mind and see what I'm feeling. 'Cause Lord knows. Lord knows I'm tired."
I, personally will be listening to this all day. This is undoubtedly the best R&B song I've heard this year. Definitely enjoy it. Really listen to it. Delve into the heart of this song, and you will hear every element I just described. If this is a brief listen into what the rest of her forthcoming album will sound like, I'm not even ready... until next time :)
